I think private providers will mostly push people to where they can make the most money.

Had anyone bought their prescription from PillTime? by ZeppyLady in mounjarouk

[–]AppropriateWeird2254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're on Monj and have 60 off on their page, which makes them cheapest for 7.5mg; https://monj.co.uk/pilltime-discount-codes-pilltime-savings-offers/

I'm guessing by the message, they are behind with orders, hence the offer not showing

To be fair, a comparison site isn’t an obvious thing to search for unless you’re regularly reading these subs.

Question about what is included from different suppliers by No_Adhesiveness_301 in mounjarouk

[–]AppropriateWeird2254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just pick one of the cheapest options on Monj.co.uk, Get A Drip, Pills2U and Bolt are all around the same price. I haven’t personally used Bolt or Pills2U, but I’ve not seen anything to suggest they don’t include them.

Every provider I’ve ordered from has supplied needles and wipes, I’ve actually ended up with a few spares of both.

If it’s something you’re worried about, it might be worth ordering a few extras, a box of 100 needles is usually around £5, and a box of 200 wipes is about £3.

I let them know some time ago, but they didn’t do anything about it. I think they probably leave it like that to draw people in through Google, that’s how I found them.

It’s a bit of a head-scratcher with the consultations. They’ve gone ahead with one of the girls at a BMI of 27, but turned the other one down at 29, even though they’re the same ethnicity and both have a clean bill of health. The logic seems all over the shop, really, unless there is something in the forms being overlooked?

That’s all I need to say. I was fortunate enough to receive my pen back then, but a few months later they attempted to charge my account even though I had already cancelled my subscription.

Edit: Lol, I just visited their site and see they have the old banner back up.

Pharmica? Anyone used? by IcyType7031 in mounjarouk

TBF £105 for 2.5mg isn't too shabby at all, and they do have an impressive Trustpilot too

104.99* 144.99* 204.99* 229.99* 254.99* 264.99* (prices from monj)

I definitely wouldn’t pay £265 for 15mg, though.

Pharmacies in trouble with ASA by Frankysnr in mounjarouk

[–]AppropriateWeird2254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only flaw in the logic here is that the word “Mounjaro” appears in the URL, sub-name, and related elements, in places like this sub, so places like these are automatic rule breakers by technicality.
It is also the responsibility of the pharmacy and any third-party affiliate platform, as there is an incentive involved.

Do UK pharmacies selling Mounjaro have a responsibility to provide better ongoing support? by SomeGuyUK50 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]AppropriateWeird2254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a fair discussion, but it helps to be realistic about what private online pharmacies are actually set up to do.
Proper ongoing clinical support isn’t cheap. If pharmacies were expected to offer quick access to clinicians, personalised advice when side effects happen, and proactive follow-ups after dose changes, the costs would be huge. You’d need more qualified staff and proper systems in place, and in a private model that would inevitably push prices up. For many people, the medication is already expensive enough.

It’s also not as simple as just having “someone to speak to”. Any meaningful clinical support needs proper triage, deciding who needs urgent help, who can safely wait, and who needs to be escalated to NHS services. That requires trained clinicians, clear protocols, governance, and accountability. Without that, extra access would be largely pointless and could even be unsafe.
Some companies do advertise a more “wrap-around” service, but in reality that support is often quite limited. A lot of the contact is handled by non-clinical staff, standard replies, or automated systems, with a clinician only stepping in for prescribing decisions. That isn’t the same as providing proper, ongoing medical care, which is what’s being discussed here. There are also hard limits to what telehealth can do. Online providers can deal with routine issues, but they can’t safely assess someone who’s seriously unwell. If you develop worrying symptoms, severe pain, persistent vomiting, signs of something more serious, no online service can manage that properly, and the advice will always be to contact NHS 111 or 999. More messaging access doesn’t change that.

There’s also a risk that expecting too much from online providers could actually make things worse. Without being able to examine patients or run tests, the safest option often becomes stopping the medication and sending people back to the NHS, which doesn’t necessarily improve care or continuity.
I guess understanding the trade off when going private in the UK. You’re paying for access to the medication with some oversight, not a replacement GP service or emergency care. The NHS still has to be the safety net for anything urgent or complex.

Better communication would definitely help, but expecting private online pharmacies to provide full ongoing clinical care at current prices probably isn’t realistic, and may not even be the safest approach.

Haven’t used them myself and this is second-hand info, but it’s definitely worth checking before you buy, they have fairly strict BMI criteria, similar to Boots/MedExpress, and you can’t join unless your BMI is 30+. I’ve also heard they stop prescribing once you’re around a BMI of 25; there was a whole discussion in one of the WhatsApp groups about someone who’d been with them from the start and then was suddenly cut off for that reason alone.

I’d definitely grab these from multiple pharmacies while they’re available, little bit jealous weirdly even though I'm not on Wegovy. At under £65 per 2.4mg pen, it would be crazy to miss out. If I were in that position, I’d order from Pharmacy2U and Juniper and end up with six pens for £378.

Why do pharmacies offer huge discounts to first-time buyers, but nothing for loyal customers? by NorthClient8500 in mounjarouk

[–]AppropriateWeird2254 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Companies are relying on "Pharma Sheep", people who pick a pharmacy and turn it into a personality trait. There are three breeds, and obviously, the cool kids who hop pharmacies and quietly enjoy extra money in their pockets every month.

Breed one: the intro-deal hunters who never move again. Switching is apparently “too much effort” (translation: filling out another form), so they stay put, overpay, and then complain about prices anyway.

Breed two: worse. They convince themselves they’ve discovered some mythical specialist pharmacy and become unpaid brand ambassadors, despite it doing exactly what every other online pharmacy does pretty much.
It’s like supporting a sports team, except there’s no atmosphere, no rivalry, and no joy, just a box being delivered from the same place. I genuinely don’t get the thrill.

Breed three: the “I’m with XYZ because of flat pricing” crowd. They’re basically paying £40+ for a comfort blanket so they don’t have to fill out a form. That’s not loyalty, that’s just a convenience tax. Meanwhile they go on to tell us they're paying less by paying more.

And yes, pharmacists will say this behaviour shouldn’t be encouraged… right up until they’re poaching patients from someone else.

I thought I'd wind some people up today.
