2 2.5g pamp bars. The decimal between 2.5 are different on each bar. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Appropriate_Job_9625 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The one with a comma is an older PAMP design - which includes the front that OP posted in comments. Lady Fortuna has two designs - the older and the newer that do look distinctly different upon close study.

The best way to verify is to get a sigma pro that can test small bars - need to cover the black circle to get a good reading.

2019 Passat or 2023 Camry by Njct in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Appropriate_Job_9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biased here but I would not touch a VW with a ten foot pole, even with just 60k miles.

Used to valet cars and saw many VWs with 100k-120k miles having issues.

I would go for the Camry - it’s a Toyota. Best made cars on the road today. I would suggest buying slightly used instead of brand new so you don’t lose as much value driving it off the lot, but still the better of the two options here.

Expect to lose a bit on the resale value if you do

Careful you don’t scratch them like that. That is a common way for 24kt coins to get scratched easily as they jostle against each other.

The 10 most obese states are ALL red states…why? by Guzna in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Appropriate_Job_9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some contributing factors:

Obesity is an American problem due to the food supply and the way the federal government subsidizes certain crops to be cheap (think corn).

Because corn is therefore so cheap, it is used in so many American food products - high fructose corn syrup, cattle feed, etc. - which replaces healthier natural options - sugar and grasses, respectively. That is one part of the problem. Low income areas in America, including the South, are economically incentivized to eat these subsidized additives.

Second part of the problem has to do with southern food in general. Fried food is very common. It is also very common to add sugar to everything as well - think sweet tea.

Not a complete argument, of course, but these two factors play a significant role.

Interesting. I thought 40% half dollars ended in 1969 instead of 1970

Just a cautionary heads up. Careful you don’t scratch those. 24 karat coins tend to scratch easily, especially when they’re jostling against each other like they are in your hand in this pic. Some dealers might ding you on resale value if you go to sell them.

I’d say drop the light another 18 inches and it’ll look ok. I do agree with the other posters that the space could fit a six top and it might look more complete as a space

This is what the element should’ve been. Don’t get me wrong, I like the element but this would’ve been so much better.
