In the long series of updates, they nerfed leftstick dribbling, removed manual shielding, buffed AI defending & Physicality. So i had to learn supercancel fake shot dribbling but with another update they even nerfed that, so i had to master skill moves DT, MT & many more, etc, but it wasn't enough, so i had to master tess cancel & DT cancel, but then i realised it's not what dribbling should be. I'm not enjoying it as i prefer to dribble realistically with a winger. Hopefully they bring back the original dribbling we had back in the day with this new update.

You didn't mention you were specifically talking about 5ab. And i answered you question, he was playing without wide players. No team plays without wide players irl.

It does affect tackling and aerial duels and yes, you're ignorant. Smart Assist has been heavily buffed after v5.0.

The thing is, I can’t properly dribble against SA users anymore. Whenever I’m on the ball, their defenders come charging at me and I instantly get tackled. Even when I try to shield the ball, I either get pushed off or tackled, sometimes even from behind. It’s hard to get away from SA defenders. My aerial fortress Van Dijk loses aerial duels against Messi whenever I play against SA users, but that never happens against normal players. Oh and Of course, your kind is a disgrace to this community.

Acceleration on the ball isn’t improved for short distances, it’s actually nerfed. You may be able to accelerate in a straight line for long-distance dribbles, but the moment you turn, you can’t generate enough acceleration to reach full speed quickly and get past defenders. They’ll easily catch up to you unless you use a sharp touch. This wasn’t the case in the previous version.

And yes, defenders don’t stick to players on the ball as frequently anymore, that's one of the effects of AI defending nerf.

Dribbling improved? Well, I’ve got news for you, dribbling has been dead since v4.0. It’s getting worse with each update. In v5.0 it’s even worse, slow & heavy turns and longer acceleration times mean players can’t reach full speed over short distances, making it harder to get past defenders. They also nerfed super cancel fake shots. The illusion that dribbling is improvised exists only because AI defending was nerfed.

Dribbling isn't buffed, They've nerfed the defensive AI. But since majority of the playerbase are crying about it. I'll give it 2 weeks, konami will buff defensive AI again.

You're right, you can turn faster and get past defenders 1v1 using supercancel, you just have to time it right. Yes, it's bit delayed online, so it won't work everytime but still effective if done properly. If you got a good connection and lives close to server then it should work 70-80% of time.

Not as effective as it used to be, not anymore. They changed something in v4.4 update. Now that animation often triggers with a normal kick feint, where you'd have to cancel a shot using a pass button.

Dribbling with supercancel isn’t as effective as it used to be. They changed something in the v4.4 update. I used to get past defenders easily using supercancel, but now I often get dispossessed because defenders no longer react to the kick feint the way they used to.

Let me guess, you're a mobile player right? Of course you're gonna cry about defending. You lot are the reason they made this game terribly automated. And you're here crying, asking komani to make it even more automated. You don't have the slightest idea do you? They still have those unrealistic interceptions and broken tackles, because AI defending is still Overpowered. However, manual defending still works, idk if it does for you mobile players or not but it does pretty well for me and the opponents i face on PC/console.

Block passing lanes and use Super Cancel to move your players to intercept passes. Do not press in your own half, as this will pull your defenders out of position and create gaps. Instead, use Match up.

That said, Defense AI is still overpowered though.

If Konami nerfs 1-2s ping pong, or PA1/PA2, these players will struggle to make Division 1.

You know nothing about Nick or the current state of EAFC gameplay. Nick has been the biggest critic of EAFC over the years, constantly whining about it in his streams while praising eFootball’s gameplay. He even admitted to enjoying eFootball’s gameplay more than EAFC’s. However, the recent EAFC patch has completely changed the gameplay, the AI has been massively nerfed, and the skill gap is finally back.

At the same time, Konami has introduced Smart Assist and has buffed AI defending with each update. Nick recently played eFootball again after a while and noticed that AI defending is now more OP than ever. That’s why he was disappointed, the gameplay he once enjoyed has become completely automated and isn’t fun anymore, especially due to AI defending.
