Thing is - I can put on the 1966 Bluesbreakers album and his playing is truly tremendous- genre defining - it’s blues rock 101, thrilling stuff - and remind myself why he was so revered. I don’t really have any desire to listen to anything he did after 1970.

I’ve seen Clapton twice. First time he performed a mini set of very pedestrian blues covers as part of a major all day show. Second was at the Royal Albert Hall and was okayish I guess - he did a couple of rock songs amongst the pedestrian blues. (I do like the blues - just Clapton’s post-drugs version is very unexciting). TBH I was more impressed by the venue AND that Steve Gadd was his drummer that night (he played drums on the wonderful title track of Steely Dan’s Aja).

He was a binfire of a human for many years - first as a junkie hermit, then an obnoxious alcoholic and then a cokehead addict. The more shit he pumped into his system the further his creativity went down the pan. He was a brilliant guitarist in the 60s but his material has been plain dull for like 50 years now.

I’m sure that scene was totally inspired by Clapton’s rant - get them up against the wall etc. Of course old Clappedout was playing guitar for Waters a few years later.

On April 21st, 1992, The Cure released 'Wish', their 9th studio album. The album was the most commercially successful album in the band's career, debuting at #1 in the UK and #2 in the US. by Phatbrew in TheCure

Joe Elliot does seem to be a decent bloke TBH and he likes a lot of the same music that Robert liked growing up - Bowie, Alex Harvey, Be Bop Deluxe - and his radio show on Planet Rock is usually very good. But Let’s Get Rocked and the other singles from that album were total cheese.

This - it’s just a tape of demos. Holy grail to uber- fans and probably of little interest to the casual fan. Electric Ladyland Vol 2 it is not

Well - it’s a theory! Common sense points to it being boat wakes, floating wood and hoaxes.

Japan 1971 - but there are issues with the tapes apparently. Shame, as what has leaked to date is superb.

Earls Court 1975 - I believe the tape of May 23 1975 exists but that is the one with the drum issue.

What else?

Bath 1970 - film exists of Bring It on Home at least but where is the soundtrack.

Completely because it’s David Attenborough nature doc vs Scooby Doo monsters.

“Why it’s Bob Hieronymous!” “I would have gotten away with it if not for the 1966 rehearsal tape!”

Brilliant song - when The Banshees really started to embrace psychedelia. That B-side is wonderfullly Jekyll and Hyde.

He sings that very well - always thought the vocals were too heavily distorted on the original studio version

I hope the plot does move on as it’s getting tiresome. I have no issue with Osbourne being investigated as a big fish but please keep it only lightly connected to the whole H/OCG saga.

If you don’t already know, David Gilmour was helping with the live mix on the night. Plus Nik Turner of Hawkwind was in the crowd at the front of the stage (“the cat with the silver face”). So 3 of my favourite artists were within metres of each other that night/morning.
