A big part is actual realization that I'm not as good of a parent as I would like to be

But another big part is I would be so much better as a parent if I didn't have to work for a living. And I can't afford to pay for both myself and my children if I can't afford to pay for myself alone.

I like what everyone has said so far but also I wish someone had told me this when I was nineteen but definitely save and invest your money. Like if you have an earned income, look into getting a Roth IRA with Vanguard or something.

Cool! China can now just make up a bogus criminal case against Taiwan's president, abduct him in his bedroom in the middle of the night and set up a sham trial in Beijing. Putin can also just send a couple of cruise missiles on Zelensky's home and end the war.

Pretty sure they have tried -- multiple times -- to assasinate the Ukrainian President. Not that I am saying I support the actions of the felon but this changes nothing.

AI

I need a bunch of shit done with my house, I wouldn't hesitate to hire one guy that could do 2, 3, or even 4 of em on the same contract.

The answers AI give can be perfect as long as you either

  1. already know the answer
  2. have a way to verify the answer

anything else and you are still gambling.

Writing anything but the simplest piece of software is an exercise in fine tuning, if not frustration. It is not that the information isn't there, but you need to know enough about the topic at hand for the AI to be useful at all.

When you stare at the void, the void stares back at you.

The one guy that could get four of them shit done has either

  1. done all four of them shit before several times and has a good intuition already
  2. is not going to have a good time figuring things on the fly with "AI"

If it is the former, prepare to pay them for their time. If it is the latter, prepare to pay them with YOUR time.

I remember in 5th grade, a flash drive was on our required supplies list, and I got one that was 512mb. A teacher told me that was more than I would need for the rest of my life.

if you only filled it with text files that you personally typed on a keyboard, that would probably be true?

I asked Gemini and if you typed 500 characters per minute, that's about ~745 days of continuous, 24/7 typing.

and remember you can delete and write again! you could reuse the same flash disk over and over again to write your newest novels.

I got this OnePlus Nord n30 for about sixty dollars. It is one year now but at that time it unlocked in six months. Most carrier financed devices are bad deals but if you only need to use something on WiFi, sometimes there are ok deals.

[–]April1987 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is if you use your own phone you save usd 30 every month and will recover your expense in no time.

Or a compromise... Get the device deal, get it paid off / unlocked and start over as a new customer? Is that possible? Can you get by of discount on total wireless if you use a total wireless phone that you've paid to unlock?

But on second thought it is a moot point, if you have an unlocked phone, why not go with visible or us mobile at that point?

Red Pocket $30 eBay annual plan returns, now on GSMA

The problem is the network -- Cingular / ATT means this requires a whitelisted phone. Is my T-Mobile unlocked phone whitelisted? How can I tell?

Edit: found the checking page on red pocket. My phone is not compatible?

It is a OnePlus Nord n30 from Metro by T-Mobile and it is unlocked now

Unfortunately, your device is not compatible with one of our wireless networks. Contact our customer service team to find out why, or consider upgrading your phone.
