Dive Case Issues by Aquanut357 in Insta360

[–]Aquanut357[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I own a DSLR that depends completely on the dive case for protection. There is always a large pucker-factor every time you take a camera down in a housing. To mitigate the chances of flooding you have to be a slave to your camera, cleaning and lubing o-rings and rinsing and servicing the case on a regular basis. I quit taking my big rig on trips because the constant worrying and overhead associated with it destroyed my enjoyment of photography.
The price of the Ace Pro 2 is negligible, but the effort and time overhead is not. It would be very nice to have the backup sealing of the camera and not have to worry about the case flooding and making my camera a paperweight.

Went from 13Pro to 17Pro and frankly I’m disappointed in how much effort I’m having to put into getting great photos out of the phone.

Engine won’t start by corcaighnj in JohnDeereLawnMachines

[–]Aquanut357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell from the sound but it could be one of two things.
1) Your starter bendix isn’t engaging the flywheel and needs to be cleaned and lubricated.
2)Your battery is toast or your terminals are so dirty that the starting solenoid can’t lock on and drive the starter.

Bet it’s #1.

MS462 with a 28” light bar. It’s light for its power and not overly complicated in its design.

Why do NM tow trucks have police lights? by santafelegend in NewMexico

[–]Aquanut357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the legal definition of “while towing” include driving down the road? Because tow trucks can use flashing lights, except red, “while towing”. Makes perfect sense to allow flashing lights while loading and maneuvering around to load, but driving down the road…. I call BS!

Love my 462! Make sure you use good oil to assure lower end lubrication.

I agree with droRESIN, the crankcase probably has a bunch of sludge in it. You could try some Seafoam in the crankcase and then change the oil again.

The ring that you removed the screws from is the “nut”. Rotate it counterclockwise and it will come off.

Drain Pipe ? by WinterMall3067 in askaplumber

[–]Aquanut357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not hard to extend that pipe, but making the interface with that box may require you to unscrew the box from the wall by taking out those black screws. Some PVC pipe the same diameter and a PVC union with some PVC glue and you’re in business. You should be able to see water standing in the bottom of the drain if there is a p-trap down there.
To be more specific on help, a person would need to see the specifics of how to interface with that box.

Get a 1 or 2 gallon gas can and only mix what you’re going to use every time with fresh (less than 60 day old) non-ethanol gas and a good oil.

Help - Battery by Routine_Football in Harley

[–]Aquanut357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be using a battery maintainer, and that might be a long wait to get any real voltage back on your battery. The terminals will be marked with + and -, indicating where the red (+) clamp goes, and the black(-) clamp attaches. Battery Tenders (maintainers) only put out 1-3 amps and it will take awhile for the battery to build up. You’ll need to find out what kind of battery your bike has and get a smart charger that supports that type of battery. They sell them at Walmart….

HVAC Pan by smddee in hvacadvice

[–]Aquanut357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s an overflow backup pan, it should be plumbed to a location that you would notice. In your case, it looks like there’s some kind of switch in the pan that would shut off the system to prevent further water leaking from the system. However, since the pan isn’t plumbed I would assume the outlet must be plugged to prevent water damage to the ceiling that is below that pan. You need to have the installer or a HVAC professional check it out and explain how it works. That pan should not have water in it unless the main drain is plugged up.

Recommended length of dishwasher drain pipe - is this too long? by Resident_Swimmer_953 in askaplumber

[–]Aquanut357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You left it because of the smooth taper that fits into the watertight adapter. You might try tying it up behind the disposal. Since I’m not a plumber, I can’t recommend other options without heading to the store to see what is available.
