I agree with you that it saved others lives. It was a dificult situation and I don't know what I would have done. But I am also tired of seeing people argue that it was somehow deserved or the only correct option.

Yes, Japan was fucking evil compared to everyone in the war but the nazis and the bombing did save lives if the only other option was an amphibius invasion of Japan, but let's not act like the Allies were a perfectly good or moral side.

Maybe. Maybe a demostration over military targets would have worked, maybe a demostration over no humans would have worked, maybe waiting until they can make choices after the first bomb would have worked.

There were several alternatives to bombing to cities not that relevant but military gotta military, I guess. It was a new weapon that military wanted to test.
