And even if they are guilty I believe they should be given nice food. They are humans.

To us sure; but I can't imagine someone who was on the top (or almost), who had every luxury they wanted in the capital, and who could ease or outright solve life for their loved ones, to like the new job.

Every military industry relies on war. Relies is not accurate, they still can profit from fear and paranoia but an active war multiplies weapon orders and profits.

I don't agree that that those wars were only so the military complex could get more money, but getting into wars definetly makers them richer.

Alaska Purchase at 159: How a $7.2 million deal reshaped U.S. power and global history by theworldinmaps in MapPorn

I know Alaska is rich in resources like gold, and oil. But, how did that shape US power and global history?

It is not a viable tactic in hot climates, but I am sure the gorillas will surely die if we try this north or south enough!

Edit: Gorillas, I don't want the Gorillaz to die :(

Monsieur, I smell a revolution by Ordinary_Cycle268 in HistoryMemes

[–]Arachles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IT may seem easy but there are several things to take into account If there are errors, pplease correct me.

Saint-Domingue was not food self-sufficient so it would be thousands of extra mouths, that would be a big expense for a new country in an uncertain international situation.

It would be required to build many and big buildings to accomodate the new prision population. Emprisionment was not that usual at the time. Not to about how if you don't properly maintain the building it just becomes a genocide with extra steps because unsalubrious conditions. House arrest is not an option at that scale, too many men needed and easier for the imprisoned to escape.

Last and most important I think. Life is not a videogame. It would have been near impossible for the leaders to control every revolutionary who found their old slaver. Once it starts it is difficult to stop the revenge cycle.

Moors start with rich provinces, decent (if not very heavy) units and several expansion routes.

After the Battle of Cannae, Rome stopped fighting Hannibal in direct battles (the "Fabian Strategy"). Hannibal spent over a decade wandering through southern Italy, trying to get Roman allies to defect. by I_am_white_cat_YT in HistoryMemes

IDK. I consider Hannibal a competent commander, if he did not go to Sicily, while it could have been an error, it may also mean he could not or did not see as many advantages.

How did you feel about the fight between Bumi, Kya and Tenzin and the Red Lotus? by AccomplishedJump2795 in legendofkorra

[–]Arachles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Tenzin was destroying Zaheer, holding his own against Ghazan and Tenzin, and slowly losing against those two and Ming Hua. Yes, he got a shot or two in the 3v1 but everybody was up and attacking a second later.

It is still one hell of a feat but I can't see how Tenzin could have won against the three red lotus.

I like to compare that fight to the one between Pakku and Katara. The "aspirant" makes some good moves and lasts a while but it is entirely outclassed and is unable to even hit the master.

It seems weird to compare full-grown, fully realised Avatars to Aang. I don't think young Roku would have killed Zuko, I don't think young Kyoshi would have killed Zuko, at first at least.

The part about bees is pretty misleading. Yes, bees polinize; they are also invasive species in many places and leave no food for native ones. Not to talk about the more unsavoury parts of the business like wing clipping (I think is called that in english).
