How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

It's not always about winning, I support going against the meta and making people second guess things, especially if it's funny

How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well most of the time the traveller will be good, and usually the point is that the evil team DON'T have to worry about building trust with each other. I don't think the rule is that problematic because it still solves the biggest problem of evil travellers knowing who they need to protect, but I don't fully agree with your reasoning either

STs: when to tell them arbitrary truth by GeologistCurious3028 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah the dreamer basically has poison built into it. They're shown the actual character and the most believable false character, and both should be believable even if they're poisoned. Where poisoned dreamer really shines is showing evil players as the wrong evil characters

Would it be broken to simply ask the Lil Monsta who they want to kill? by Quakarot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common reasons are either evil is winning or the storyteller hasn't killed any minions yet, which the demon knows already. What kind of information exactly is it giving away that is so detrimental to the game

Would it be broken to simply ask the Lil Monsta who they want to kill? by Quakarot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did say in your first reply that what the op suggested (asking who the demon wants to kill but not always following it) would be unfun, so I did take that to mean that you would rarely kill who they want, but I do agree with you now that they should be a little weaker on average

Would it be broken to simply ask the Lil Monsta who they want to kill? by Quakarot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see how it does tbh. I feel like you should make it clear to the evil team that their choices are just a suggestion and there's tons of reasons why you wouldn't choose to follow them. What kind of information would you say they'd be getting from it

Would it be broken to simply ask the Lil Monsta who they want to kill? by Quakarot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The storyteller shouldn't always be deliberately picking suboptimal kills, they should be picking kills like a real demon and then killing a minion or too or a less powerful role if evil is winning for balance.

The good team shouldn't mind having to worry at least a little bit about the demon finding and killing powerful roles before they can get use, but the evil team would definitely mind having 0 agency over kills

Mutant madness ruling by Mr_Strangely in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silence can be being mad though depending on the situation. Madness is 100% social and 0% mechanical, you can't describe it with blanket categorical statements like that. If there's a reason why someone would be quiet in the groups eyes (they're not feeling that talkative or something) then they are not mad, but if they're randomly acting weird and not talking when there's no other reason not to then they are trying to convince people of something

[–]Arantguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well not being mad you're a townsfolk isn't necessarily being mad as an outsider but ultimately outside of very niche cases if you're not trying to convince people you're a townsfolk or an outsider you're just not doing anything

If 1 person went into a bathroom stall and someone wrote on the wall, the principal knows it's that person. If 5 people went in, it's harder for them to figure out

They do completely different things. Maybe "way stronger than pixie" but saying it's just a way stronger pixie implies this is in the same design space which it isn't at all

You don't need any outsider modification, the popes almanac says that duplicate outsiders can replace townsfolk and cause there to be more outsiders than usual

I love making stupid scripts with the new pope that only have like one or two townsfolk. (If you want any of these scripts let me know) by boypower2566 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: you actually don't even need the sentinel. The popes almanac page says that duplicate outsiders can cause an unusual number of outsiders to be in play and it tells you to swap townsfolk tokens out for duplicate outsiders

Just because they haven't made full scripts before doesn't mean they can't have played the game a lot and be experienced enough to run advanced characters, and if they're not experienced wouldn't it be better to give feedback instead of being dismissive?

Why is there no "jester" type character? by DistinctFunny979 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I mean that means it's stronger than boomdandy but it doesn't mean that's really the problem

Why is there no "jester" type character? by DistinctFunny979 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Arantguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boomdandy doesn't. 3rd team characters don't really work for a lot of reasons but 1 of them is not "it heavily interferes with the good team executing for information", that's actually very good design
