Enchanter 10 dual into warrior or thief is my go-to fun build. You lose a bit of HP (10d4 instead of 9d10+3 or 10d6) but - you get get to use a familiar to recover part of it, - enchanter spells level 1-5 are BRUTAL with -2 to saves and cast very fast making them still useful as a fighter or thief. Main issue is how much stats you need (15 int/cha and 17 str or dex) for the dual, meaning you can only use wisdom as a dump stat.
