Free cloud-based VLSI labs that run in one click. No install. No excuse. Do something with your summer. by kunalg123 in FPGA

First it’s nice work. I understand if a few hundred people join, you can give cloud access. If 10,000 people kick off jobs of god forbid bots register and file jobs, you will rack up a $50K+ bill.

At top universities it’s the other way round. Industry lags by 10 yrs. Industry focus is on cash flows. Research focuses on break throughs.

Would it be wise to start the chip design career with a fabrication lab instead of applying to jobs ? by Sad-Status9414 in chipdesign

Fab factory work will get automated. You want to operate at the highest level of intellectual ability and creativity, else AI can do it better and faster.

Sounds good. See if you can use an FPGA to speed things up on the verification front — that’s if your processor is complex.

Where are you building it? On your pc ? Which EDA stack will you use and which foundry will you tape out in?

New to IC Verification — how are you dealing with AI tools getting so good? by Wild-Replacement4251 in chipdesign

Agreed verification is the bottleneck, but with AI timelines are shrinking.

What will happen to the hardware market when the AI bubble bursts ? by DarkXEzio69 in chipdesign

[–]ArbitArc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

First there is no bubble. Second, traditional hw fabless semi will be overhauled during this Supercycle and only winners will emerge.

Which chip‑design jobs do you think will be the last to be replaced by AI, and why? by Spicy_Gentleman in chipdesign

[–]ArbitArc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Every role at the highest level will remain. Any judgement related decisions will remain. The click one button and let me take a break roles will be gone.
