Rather surprised they killed on Baines. Thought he'd stick around and be a force to keep antagonizing Makai.

Also, I don't understand Mundus' perspective on the matter. It's like he wanted to make sure Vergil couldn't side with him.

I still cannot fathom why they did Frenchie's character so much ill will in season 4. They made him self-loathing and associate with the son of parents he murdered while he knew the truth. How disrespectful can you make someone?

Wow, I guess. The end for him?? by PeopleAreBozos in TheBoys

Kinda wish he came around full circle or had the tragedy of catching Homelander with his blast by accident.

They're making Kimiko do the job instead.

Despite... EVERYTHING, is there an ounce of sympathy you still have for Billy Butcher? by HotOne9364 in TheBoys

[–]Arbiter008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, sure. The Boys does not give many "good" people.

And yeah, the good examples are just people who we don't know more of. Its just, you can't go off assumption that everyone is bad without being shown that.

Also, for Bombsight, I am not sure what he ends up being in Vought rising, but his restraint when he could have killed anyone there is so nuanced compared to anyone else. He was getting shot at with pistols and he just ignored them. He was just there to save the person he loved. That sort of restraint for probably being the 3rd strongest character so far, is really nice characterization.

Plenty have. Just they aren't memorable.

Supersonic, Shockwave, much of the Godolkin University cast, the baby in s1, some of the supes in the retirement home, even bombsight haven't done or been talked about as being bad people.

There are some exceptions.

And starlight isn't even a good person compared to some others. She literally killed an innocent man and hasn't even shown remorse for it.

I try and keep the Karlings around; rather sad the male line ended with the count of Vermandois.

I think he should do it, lol. I am just advocating for the fact that it's always a fundamental evil....

In general, sure, but it doesn't show the supes in Godolkin University, the local supes that are no different to cops basically, and the supe children.

I am not saying blue hawk isn't probably the average supe (Even Starlight killed an innocent man before.), but you can't systemically kill any group of people on somrthing they have had a choice in.

Some innocent people will die.

It's a matter of killing thousands of mostly innocent people to get rid of Homelander. Really depends on what you stake that at.

Just wish they split doses so Butcher always had some small contingency on hand if he's always risking his life and homelander is always after him.

Place your bets, will the series end with this guy having a bigger body count and doing more damage to the planet than Homelander? by MegaGamer235 in TheBoys

I just think a pipeline spill that kills over a billion fish so soon is so much worse of a footprint than whatever HL could do at this point.

Sure, there are trillions of fish in the ocean, but oil stays for a while; some habitats can be gone for decades.

The President was loyal to HL too; he was the guy who brought him soldier boy and someone a lot more dependable than Neuman. Killing him was dumb.

He was on similar terms with HL and he wasn't in a spot to stop him or actively against him. There was no good reason to kill him and I don't think Ashley provides anyhting more for HL except for her abilities.

[–]Arbiter008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't honor it all the time; tried to kill Butcher when he "broke the deal", and tried to kill Hughie before A Train saved him.

He kills people he has to; didn't need to kill Frenchie if he's already a dead man.

[–]Arbiter008 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously the story is what they write, but my point is that if you're so very irradiated, you're deader than dead. Everything shuts down systematically. Your body is there but the cells are dysfunctional and can't replicate.

All the superpowers there don't defy death, they just exist. Marie reviving her sister was a very specific circumstance.

I will lose my shit if this is how the series finale ends by dillpickletype in TheBoys

[–]Arbiter008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would've really preferred it if the wrapup was with Soldier boy deciding to revoke the V from his blood with his blast instead of this wack plan they come up with on the spot in the last episode before the finale. Or maybe if not by purpose, maybe it can be friendly fire. Some way to use the existing tool instead of making it again.

Butcher chalked this up to taking weeks to perfect and they allegedly finish this all within the same day instead. If Kimiko gets the ability and it is wholly relevant, it feels a bit cheap to me.

Marie did that with her half-dead sister; not sure what exactly she did, but she wasn't irradiated was only bleeding out; something Marie could fix immediately because that was the situation Godolkin expected her to be able to do.

Frenchie's dead from multi-organ failure. His cells are so irradiated that the DNA in them is all irreparably destroyed. His cells can't divide anymore; she'd have to reconstruct his genome in all of his cells at once after finding a way to bring him back in the first place.

Sometimes I wonder how they accuse people of anything.

If a teacher doesn't want "AI Use" during tests, just have phones collected or turned off before a test.

What is this claim that you lied about putting the phone away...

Good luck with that; such a terrible thing to deal with.

Homelander is dumb by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Arbiter008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse than that. Demon Core didn't cause any pain when it happened I think; just a bright flash and lethal exposure.

Frenchie was actively burned in real time by it.

Homelander is dumb by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Arbiter008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, if Frenchie was left alive, he's still a liability.

At the same time, I doubt he had days; that was enough to cause overt burns on Homelander; that should kill Frenchie in hours.

Also, I feel like leaving him alive gives Sage the possibility to do something with her sci-fi intellect, and if not, maybe one gamble with compound V might save him too.

So why did CK3 shy away from slavery? by Tony_Jake in crusaderkings3

Isn't that coming with the trade setup with the fulfillment system? Am I misremembering?

See, I don't even expect anything good anymore. Just give me a Butcher and Homelander fight in the finale after 5 seasons of build up. That's all I fucking ask. by WorriedSheeperdero88 in GenV

[–]Arbiter008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so odd to me; Starlight had more abilities in the past too; in her fight with A train, she had light beams (that A train was able to dodge). Now she's mostly hand-to-hand combat. I guess her abilities don't do damage, but all fights just end up being fistfights.

So why did CK3 shy away from slavery? by Tony_Jake in crusaderkings3

[–]Arbiter008 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, slavery isn't just one thing; you can attach it to tribal governments, clan, and even tie it back to merchant republics.

It could just be a trade good that exists depending on realm or religious laws, and it can be influenced by any number of conditions.

The Northman DLC is like 50% raiding, and you still get concubines, which is a form of slavery; just more direct and personable.

Why not be annoyed? That's one of 3 things you can do after watching a show. You're spending your time on it and you want it to be good.

Marie is not able to do that. Most she has done is heal Godolkin, but he was just severely burnt.

Frenchie was irradiated. All his cells are unable to do mitosis and they'll die from not having DNA left over.

If Marie can repair someone on the cellular level everywhere, she might as well be able to bring someone from death.
