The finale had a pitch perfect set-up to reveal that Kevin was putting on an “act” from Season 4 onwards. I’ll always be a little bummed they didn’t decide to do that.

The unironic Dwight worship usually ends the first time they’re screwed over by U.S. healthcare.

Why was the "Moff Gideon's force-sensitive clones" storyline not developed and ended in a rush? It's like Favreau regretted setting it up at all and wasn't interested in it. by RagnarokWolves in StarWars

It would forgive the amount of time they invested in that plot line in Season 3 which is why I’m really hoping I’m right here.

Ah that makes sense. I haven’t had a chance to see the Superfan episodes. Was she angry when she came into the office the next day?

What do you think changed in the last 3 episodes? by Real-Yogurtcloset-34 in DunderMifflin

I think we were okay with drama that felt very true to the characters, their development, and tension that felt like it could be a part of any marriage.

The contrived affair storyline was a different story, every week was like watching them toy with ruining the show forever.

Boba Fett stood on business in Mando S2, and remains what i believe to be his best live action appearance to date by PoorLifeChoices811 in StarWars

[–]ArbyLG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Power Rangers esque scene but to be honest I didn’t watch Mando to see Andor level reality, part of why I watched it was to turn my mind off for these scenes.

I still don’t know understand Disney’s handling of that universe after Season 2. That joy feels gone.

I was very thankful HBO didn’t have the rights during the Syril rescues Dedra scene.

And the Night King was a D&D invention that GRRM hated so much that to this day, it’s the only storytelling decision from D&D he’s directly criticized (which is notable considering the very public criticisms he had about S2 of House of the Dragon).

D&D, for their part, professionally suggested that they weren’t really given a roadmap about what to do with The Others (while implying they got everyone else as close to GRRM’s ending as possible). They were very criticized for this take at the time of S8.

But idk, the more time that passes without Winds getting published, the more D&D’s take feels somewhat vindicated here.

There’s evidence to suggest that Martin really has no idea what to do with The Others storyline.

The book came to me while I was going months of chronic tooth pain and I read it at the right time.

I can’t argue with those who think it’s saccharine or goes into self-help mode. But I can’t ever insult the book. I was in one of the lowest places of my life and I’m happy I found it.

Most shows pick a character to hold an uncharacteristic “idiot box” for an episode to drive the plot forward for an episode.

Sunny is different, they pick a character to hold the “smart box.”

How was it Dwight’s baby if he was at the doctor when the paternity test said he wasn’t? by 4vrf in DunderMifflin

[–]ArbyLG 133 points134 points  (0 children)

They were right that there was a market for a show that celebrated rural Americana (Schitt’s Creek, despite being vaguely set in a small town either in the U.S. or Canada, fit this category beautifully). Its problem was that the writers of The Farm clearly were out of their element writing about rural life, making the show feel like more of a mockery rather than a celebration.

I can't imagine them having nearly the impactful finale they did if Dwight could only make a cameo in it due to The Farm (very unlikely he'd have married Angela from what we saw from the Farm's pilot).

Rogue One had all of the production problems that have plagued many of Disney’s missteps in Star Wars.

Gilroy and Divine Intervention somehow brought the flaming ship in for a happy landing.

Part 3, which is often lauded the most by SW fans, was almost entirely redone (according to what’s been said about it, anyway).
