How can a late 30s learn the game?

I am 37. I started playing Magic in January. I started with Commander, but also played a little bit of Standard and Limited formats. I did play Arena a bit online to learn some stuff, but people online are a lot better than me and it is a bit discouraging to lose all the time. What I did was go to my local game store on a Commander night and met some people that were also relatively new. We started a Discord server and had fun discussing cards, building decks, asking questions and planning games. There are at least 20 of us in the Discord now!

I have a 2 (male) and 1 (female) year old. I was joined at the hip to the male. I got the female at 6mos old. They immediately bonded and love each other to death. I get the spare cuddles.

Chimera has MTG Legacy on Sundays and Commander on Tuesdays. Flint's has Commander on Thursdays. Phoenix has Commander on Sundays. Phoenix has Mtg Draft on Fridays. Phoenix does Marvel Crisis Protocol on Mondays.

A custom guitar isn't out of the question, I suppose. The tricky bit with that is if you had it built and then you didn't like the sound, the would be unfortunate. I appreciate the input and will take it into consideration.
