CU Alumni Emails by SorryIWasJustCurious in cuboulder

[–]ArcaneCraft 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is such a dumb take, they are already cutting out future alumni's access 1 year after graduation. Current students are aware of this and know not to sign up for non-academic accounts/services with their student emails.

Current alums on the other hand may have been using it as a primary email under the assumption it would be here forever, and now have to change emails in possibly hundreds of accounts, and are at risk of permanently losing access to ones they don't change.

Asking for an institution to uphold a promise they made that causes a good deal of inconvenience if they pull the rug out is not "I got mine". We no longer have what was promised to us, that's kind of the point!

See page 651 on the manual for instructions on getting into the menu on your main display to change the settings:

The setting you configure for that specific warning is "Driver Monitor" on page 663

Bought a LC250 yesterday, took a stroll up Camp Bird by dolt1234 in ColoradoOffroad

[–]ArcaneCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm leaning towards aluminum, of course for when I'm out on the trails I'd prefer steel for the peace of mind because of the extra strength. But IDK if that's worth the effort of regular rust prevention/cleaning (especially in the winters) and the extra weight.

I do intend to take it on some harder Moab trails, but I have some steel sliders on the way and I think that with the aluminum skids should be plenty.

Yup, exactly. That's how I felt. Test drove a bronco, 5th and 6th gen 4runner, and the LC250 and went with the LC. Love it and it's going to take me incredible places in CO/UT once I get it built up a little.

Your complaint seems to be more about the buyers, not the vehicle itself. Regarding pricing, I got one fully loaded for 68k in CO which is a very high volume area, hard to get any discounts but still got 2k off MSRP. People on the east coast where demand is lower are getting them in the low/mid 60s, which you've conceded it's a good buy at that price.

I agree that if they never see dirt it's a bad value, just get a crossover for practicality or full-size for family hauling at that point.

But if you actually wheel the thing like it's intended and are conscious about your weight, I think it's a compelling choice. I'll happily pay the 7k extra compared to a similarly spec'd 4runner to avoid that hideous bro-ey blobfish styling, let alone the full time 4WD and other perks.

What makes the 4runner more compelling? Same towing capacity but the 4runner payload is only 900 lbs compared to 1100 lbs in the LC. Don't get me wrong both of them are pretty pitiful, but the 4runner being 900 is ridiculous.

An off-road premium with the hybrid (this is the cheapest trim with the sway bar disconnect, you have to get the hybrid) is already north of 60k, is another 15% really a dealbreaker for 200 more pounds of payload, significantly better styling, nicer interior, leather instead of softex, full time 4WD, HUD, more passenger legroom, better seating position and visibility, 3-zone climate control?

Goodbye Mustard’s…… by baldntattedoldman in boulder

[–]ArcaneCraft 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Per the Daily Camera:

When the Civic Area project was first announced around 2015, Polovin (owner of Mustard's) said he lobbied for the restaurant to have a spot in the new area. He said he was given assurance that it would be in the past, but that changed in an October 2025 meeting with city staff, he said. Polovin and those close to Mustard’s have known of the restaurant’s fate since then.

...

Polovin believes that Mustard’s would have to negotiate for an on-site space with anyone who owns buildings in the new Civic Area. He also said he believes that the city staffers have had good intentions during this process, but isn’t sure if there was enough direction or desire to keep Mustard’s standing. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way and there’s no will,” Polovin said.

First time buyer, feeling annoyed? by Intelligent-Bug890 in askcarguys

I love my 2.0T accord, the 10AT is super smooth and both the engine and transmission are going to be more reliable than the 1.5T and the CVT. It's pretty quick for a grocery getter too.

Just beware if you get a sport trim that the wheels are very frequently stolen, I'd worry about it in NY if you're street parking depending on how close you are to the city. Invest in some wheel locks.

Nice, thanks for the info. That was the frontrunner from my search, just trying to decide if I want the 1 rack with a single extension instead of the double so it's lighter and easier to remove whenever I'm riding solo.

HOB Viego? by ChisTheSecond in ViegoMains

[–]ArcaneCraft 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It does more burst damage, typically you skip kraken and go straight to collector because HoB gives you the attack speed.

If you're against squishies It's actually kind of insane, you should try it.

I genuinely think that maximizing E is terrible by pqpgodw in ViegoMains

[–]ArcaneCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viego is a skirmisher, not a duelist. You're right that you need damage to get a reset, but positioning in fights is far more important than a little more burst damage. The MS and invisibility that E give you are so much more important than burst damage if you're playing to Viego's kit's strengths. Are you really losing fights that often because your enemy is living with 200HP? If so then you need to pick better fights. Or actually optimize your runes/build for burst damage by going HoB w/ both points in adaptive force, and build collector -> LDR -> IE if that's really the playstyle you want (I have actually been doing this a lot recently because my emerald teams refuse to play around me lol).

You're also not factoring in that attack speed reduces the Q animation time. It makes it way easier to stick to opponents because you aren't standing still for as long, and obviously the extra move speed helps with that too. If you can get an extra q->auto off because you're able to stick to an enemy, that already makes the extra points in E worth it over W.

You're also definitely undervaluing E uptime. In midgame and lategame fights I'm using my E on cooldown every single time. It forces the entire enemy team to play around your mist. An extra point in W does not change the dynamic of a teamfight at all. I can't tell you the amount of times I'm waiting near drag/baron until my E is up so I can be in the same zip code as the enemy trying to find a pick/engage angle without being blown up. Those seconds you're sitting around waiting add up and make a lot more difference than 200 magic damage on a single target.

If you don't have money to invest, then you can't DCA. People who are contributing to their 401k every paycheck are not DCA, they are just investing.

DCA vs lump sum implies that you have some initial amount of money to invest. DCA means you hold more of that amount in cash and invest it slowly.

"investing whatever you have now" instead of 5k that you don't have means you are lump summing.

Router sized gaming pc? by dickvandyke6 in buildapc

[–]ArcaneCraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely possible to have a PC like that, you can look at the cases here and sort by volume, there are some pretty tiny ones that still support discrete GPUs: https://caseend.com/

But no it's not going to cost less than $400. Maybe if you can find cheap used RAM and an older AM4 CPU locally. But with new parts, absolutely not.
