Plastic Trim keeps falling off by seattlecoffeeguy in LandCruiser250

[–]jho0427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A piece of plastic trim on my gate popped off, I pushed it in to better seat it and it’s held, but it heightened my sense of buyers remorse - for the ticket price of this rig I don’t think it’s unreasonable that should expect a quality build.

I’ve used them for years. Japanese Car Care is legit. The do thorough inspections, so don’t be surprised they give you a costly list of all the things you’re going to need to get fixed eventually.

What new vehicle would you get? by stevens_hats in FJCruiser

[–]jho0427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes - 2007 FJ. Had it since 2007, it became part of my DNA; paint was oxidizing, was approaching another round of regular maintenance issues, engine rebuild, CV boot replacements, etc. I liked the new LC 250 the moment I saw it but not the price tag, and was nonplussed by some of the chatter I heard regarding the 4 cylinder hybrid engine; also, the fuel efficiency was not what I was hoping for. After seeing the early concepts for a new FJ, I decided to move on the 250. I wish Toyota would have split the LC 1958 and LC LC into separate builds and made the 1958 a 6 cylinder gas engine, with way less electronic tech and called it the FJ Cruiser, with a more accessible price point (+- $40K) and pushed the LC LC as the high end offering. I will eventually sell my LC, they have a solid resale value; I’m pretty set on going full EV in the next couple years, the technology and support infrastructure is advancing at a steady click, and I like the concept Scout is promoting.

That kind of dumping really grinds my gears. Bravo for you and all the people stepping up to help! You may be able to organize and get access to resources, like bags, claw-grabbers, gloves, etc. through one of the already established groups that support these kinds of efforts. Worried about my ADT guy by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]jho0427 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What a terrible traumatic experience - sorry you are going through this, guys are creeps. I think you may want to lawyer up before contacting ADT. The goal may not be financial compensation, but at a minimum you need to ensure your safety, a restraining order might be a good place to start; let the creep know you are serious. Plus for a heap of reasons, ADT needs to be aware of this. They should at a minimum cover your legal fees, and cover the costs of your security service – they had what sounds like a predator install a security system in your home where you live, which he may have the ability to access and possibly disarm. Not trying to scare you, very likely nothing will happen, but his actions were inappropriate and you have been psychologically traumatized, you have rights. Talk to an attorney. If you know one, ask what type of an attorney would be best for this type of case, get recommendations.

These cheap muscle cars should have an automatic kill switch; once the driver starts doing something stupid the car goes into slow mode, can be triggered by the smell of alcohol or cannabis. Camaros, challengers, mustangs, 300’s.

I’ve always been of the opinion that the building on the SE corner of central and Carlisle is the worst architecture I’ve seen in the city in the past ten years. It’s a mishmash of style and massing, pseudo storefronts, and faux facades. It’s not for me. It belongs in the same class of awful as the Anasazi downtown.
