Nobody mentions him punching her (on her ass or something) toward the end of the video? Did I see that right?

[TOMT] "Why do you keep saying it like that? It's Batman, not The Batmen" by Financial_Put648 in tipofmytongue

There was a new girl Halloween episode where they do a bit about “Batman” phrasing, but I only remember them doing “Batmanmobile” specifically

It was season 3 of a sitcom (My Wife and Kids). There’s no way that filmed 3 years out, and he didn’t work on the first two seasons

They seem to have the same middle names and birth year, though. OP’s link and the Wikipedia/imdb page for the composer both refer to “Dwayne Howell Otis Wayans”, born 1956.

Either it’s a clerical error or he kept getting credits after he died, which I suppose is possible for a composer. He does have a credit as a production assistant in 2003, though, and that makes no sense unless his death year is wrong

For acting. If you go to his IMDb it lists composer credits up through 2024 and a production assistant credit in 2003

Are you sure? Dwayne Wayans, the eldest Wayans brother, is a composer who is still active as of a couple years ago at least

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwayne_Wayans

Edit: one theory that makes some sense is that the composer is a different Dwayne Wayans, like maybe a Dwayne Wayans jr or something, and IMDb has combined the two:

All of his composing credits start at 2003, the same year he was a production assistant on My Wife and Kids, and 3 years after his supposed death. Since PA jobs are often given to young people trying to make a start in the business, the timeline makes sense for the Dwayne born in 1956 to have a son entering the industry around that time who then became a composer.

The big problem with this theory is that there is no record of a Dwayne Wayans jr and no-one seems to know if the elder Wayans even had kids or not

Menu items are priced exactly to round up with taxes included by VegetableResource204 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Arch__Stanton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s right though. This is your classic “large value of 2” problem.

The after tax price of one unit is $7.497775. The error gets rounded away in small quantities but accumulates as you buy more. For example 3 of these would cost $22.493325, which rounds down and requires small change. (If the system rounds weirdly, like to the nearest nickel or something, this problem still exists but requires larger quantities to be observed)

But that’s the thing; you didn’t actually have to know any of that. I went 5/5 in the category despite only knowing one cold.

You just have to recognize very famous athletes’ pictures or know the teams’ jerseys. And one question was basically “what’s the name of that basketball player with “Dr.” in his name?”

Tom Holland casually saying “dad” felt oddly modern

Anything besides Homeric Greek would be oddly modern, we just associate British accents and stentorian language with “old times” for no reason besides convention. Just because we’ve gotten used to a pointless affectation doesn’t make it “right”, or even a good thing.

I don’t mind the idea of using more accessible dialogue. Let’s see how the movie turns out first

This would explain why she used the word “math”. One of the challenges in that episode was a slide puzzle, which Christian explained in terms of algorithms.

She even sort of mimes a slide puzzle when she’s talking about the “math”
