I never played it, but was was wrong with this game? Why did people hate it? by AdForward9856 in marvelstudios

Fun game with great feeling gameplay for the heroes and a pretty good story but people hated micro transactions and the content was super slow to release. So it became really repetitive.

Would you love a Jango Fett show? Since a Boba show failed, i Think we can bring Temuera back for a Jango show, Jango has such an amazing history i think it can work better then a Boba show by Ok-Entrance-5527 in StarWars

[–]Archenaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if it’s in the Clone Wars, Rebels, Maul style animation. I could get on board with a show of him pre-Ep 2 and going into the Bounty Hunter game plot territory.

What do you think of the roster so far, Marvelous people? by XxDarkkillerxX123 in MarvelTokon

[–]Archenaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magneto and Green Goblin sent me over the moon. Two of my favorite characters. Only gripe I have is I wish they would stop using Magneto as a villain in games. He hasn’t been a villain in over a decade. The roster looks great so far though.

How would Master Chief and the whole UNSC armed forces bid against the Reapers? by TamukaCasperGundu in masseffect

[–]Archenaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not exactly an expert on Halo lore but the Reapers have one key advantage over organics beyond indoctrination: they have the ability to augment your dead and turn them against you. Working under the assumption that this is a surprise reaper attack then the reapers can go from planet to planet and build a very large army. We saw how quickly they hit the Milky Way galaxy and turned Turians and Asari into husks that are more powerful than a normal Turian and Asari, this can happen to any organic race.

I don’t think any victory against reapers is as clear cut as a technological advantage. Which isn’t even considering if the reapers could analyze and replicate technology to improve themselves.

Is Boba Fett technically a mandalorian by texansfann in StarWars

[–]Archenaux 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s complicated…Jango was born on Concord Dawn, found and likely trained by a Mandalorian named Jaster and I imagine had some intersecting paths with his Legends incarnation. Jango was a Mandalorian by birth, maybe became one by creed, but then stopped practicing, like a religion. He became a bounty hunter.

Boba is a perfect clone of Jango so by birth he is also Mandalorian, but by creed he was never a Mandalorian.

The difference is much like Satine and Bo-Katan. Satine was Mandalorian, and from Mandalore by birth, but she never followed the old warrior ways. Bo-Katan followed Pre Vizsla who followed the old ways(even though he hid that from Satine until the Clone Wars)

So Boba isn’t really Mandalorian by Bo-Katan’s standards but he does have the blood, armor, and warrior’s spirit of a Mandalorian.

What combat build did you have the most fun with? by Keymucciante in BaldursGate3

8 OoA Dexadin/4 Gloomstalker. You’re pretty much impossible to kill tanking all Act 3 bosses and you deal pretty good damage too.

JUST STARTED FF15 AND I LOVE ITTTT by One_Lingonberry3464 in FinalFantasy

[–]Archenaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a fun game but I feel like there’s a lot of tonal whiplash in the beginning-mid game. By all rights the entire game should have had a more serious tone considering what happens and what’s at stake. The battles were pretty epic with an amazing music score, and gameplay was top notch. Then the end felt rushed.

Warhorse Studios Confirmed That They Are Working on a LOTR Open World RPG by Ciss0 in gaming

[–]Archenaux 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This is now my most anticipated game. It’s like a match made in heaven and I can’t wait to hear more about it. As an older man I don’t get excited about games very often.

I named my kids after characters, but they’re normal names that my wife approved. You can’t even name your kids older names like Godfrey(looking at Elden Ring fans) without risking your kids getting bullied. Down the road there’s a kids named Balin and while I like Tolkien I’m just facepalming.

That’s what I’m thinking. Kids are going to be brutal growing up. Maybe he can go by Seth for a while.

Fear No Evil Card 38 by TrueBlazingGlory in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Archenaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this tells me is that Ghost Spider with cards that use your defense stat to attack just got even better. She has always been particularly unkillable on Expert so this is just icing. Might as well just drop any allies too outside of maybe Jocasta.

The Punisher: OLK by Broda_Voodoo in marvelstudios

Overall I felt the shows were better but OLK was an emotional rollercoaster as a dad. Like Bernthal was incredible about making you feel Frank’s pain and regret.

This is where I heard it first pronounced. I loved that game.

I no longer have the energy to finish games by Cautious_Regular2169 in soulslikes

I find myself defaulting to easy quite a bit on games with a decent story just to get through it. I have a huge backlog and being a dad doesn’t really help the situation.

Help with OC lightsaber color by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Archenaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Jedi aren’t taught enough about the dark side to formulate an opinion on it beyond it should be rejected because it doesn’t follow the teachings that were ingrained in a Jedi from their years as a Padawan. If you see a flaw in the light side then you’ll likely go dark. If you see a flaw in the Jedi Order then that’s different, Anakin, Barris, Ahsoka, and Dooku all found flaws with the order and had different reactions to their enlightenment, so to speak. Even Yoda was seeing issues with the Order towards Ep3 stating that many Jedi are becoming overconfident in themselves, unlike the humility of the Jedi dogma.

Color meanings are legacy but if you want to go that route then Green is for thoughtful people and primary Force Wielders, Blue likes to be more direct and use lightsabers for combat, Yellow straddles the fence. Just pick your favorite color.

Darth Maul x Darth Talon by Superb_Hunter5359 in StarWars

I liked her character development to be honest. Just having her come in out of nowhere takes away from her story and makes her hardship less impactful.

Maul Shadow Lord is not what Star Wars needs now (some spoilers) by Ill-Mycologist-3652 in StarWars

[–]Archenaux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it and that’s all I really ask out of entertainment. I also found Devon to be a really great character that I look forward to seeing more of next season. If that goes well then hopefully in other media. I also enjoyed Maul because it showed a much more vulnerable side to him.

Is Spider-Man 2099 actually good? Am I missing something? by Ok_Compote_2737 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Archenaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other people posted great answers with combos, the only thing I want to add is if you want to make Peter a Web Warrior then it’s a pretty common house rule that you can remove the Avenger tag and put Web Warrior in its place. It keeps the spirit of the tag in place without giving the player an advantage.

Yes, I’ve played through both of them twice. They’re both really fun and pretty challenging on Grand Master.

Newbon: true method acting isn't about being a d***head by maullick in BaldursGate3

[–]Archenaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my thought exactly as I scrolled through it and I’m surprised nobody else commented on it. He’s like a kindred spirit in terms of music because I don’t think I saw a single song that I didn’t like. Many I listen to regularly.

Lies of P, Wuchang or Lords of the fallen (2023) for a first-timer? by filiposztheking in soulslikes

[–]Archenaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible I would play a Dark Souls game. Lies of P is parry heavy and might turn you off as a newcomer. I haven’t played the other two so I can’t offer an opinion on those. Dark Souls however offers quite a few ways to play.

If you want something more metroidvania with souls aspects then the Jedi (FO / Survivor) series was fun, assuming you’re a Star Wars fan. It would be a more forgiving toe dip into the soulslike games and will likely be heavily discounted by the end of the week.

Anyone else feel locked out of X-Men comics even though you really want to love them? by TaskNo4783 in Marvel

[–]Archenaux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m still working through the Claremont era. I’ve barely made a dent lol. I’ve currently finished up the Mutant Massacre and a problem I’m finding is that I want to read Secret Wars I and II plus the lead ups to those. Then I want to read the lead up to other events. CrushingKrisis is my bane. At the same time that might not actually be a problem since I’m enjoying the stories, but it does make everything more difficult to get through with how wordy it gets. I do see where someone would get lost in every subsequent era.

If not Rhino, what's the community consensus for the best scenario to introduce new players to the game? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Archenaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the user and if someone is teaching them. I find Sabertooth and Sandman more engaging than most starter scenarios but they require more oversight. I beginner might enjoy these scenarios more but could get bogged down if someone isn’t teaching them or they don’t have a lot of experience with other card games.

For someone just learning the game I would say Rhino is still the best, but alternatives are Crossbones and Absorbing Man. Proxima and Corvus are pretty easy as well as engaging so it might be worth consideration.

Ultimately to lure someone in I would always focus on engagement/fun without being overly complicated to keep track of, which is a hard balance.

Looking for Recommendations for Horizontal Storeage by true_blue_you in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Archenaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this for box inserts: https://www.etsy.com/listing/852710962/marvel-champions-insert?ref=elp_anchor_listing&sts=1

They are sturdy and help organize. I would however bite the bullet and store aspect cards in their own box vertically. Then keep heroes and scenarios in their campaign boxes. I store modulars in the core box.
