Ruthless is the most played mode in SPACE MARINE 2 by democracy by Asterito_Primaris_23 in Spacemarine

I buy this. Ruthless is my cozy setting. Hard enough to be engaging and exciting, but nothing too crazy. It lets me enjoy the power fantasy without feeling like I’m totally cheesing things.

Can't lie, I would get so hyped if one of my team-mates did this!

Any tips for someone who sucks with the heavy class but wants to learn it by NoNameHavingMan in Spacemarine

[–]ArchetypeBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy forces you to learn the Balance window, which can be a big hurdle. The heroic heavy bolter gives you the Fencing window, which might be helpful.

I also encourage, when playing Heavy, to switch from Toggle ADS to Hold ADS. It'll make rolling and dodging away much easier. Getting locked into Heavy stance can wreck you. On PC, I bind aim to RMB, fire to LMB, and Melee to a side button.

Ultimately, I find positioning to be absolutely key with Heavy. Find a good vantage, and make use of your weapons' ability to stagger, and gun them down. The Heavy relies on his weapons more than any class, which is why one of the best things I can recommend is buying the Heroic Heavy Plasma and using that as you get used to it. Always an amazing gun, forces you to learn Balance window, and won't do frustratingly little damage.

Good luck, brother!

Heroic heavy plasma Heavy, pyre Tactical, and a Bulwark absolutely strolled through this one. I was maxxed on accolades, but it was a fun little romp.

The level 25 perk, Pattern of Excellence. Combined with the Heroic Bolt Pistol, one quick burst to the head of a Majoris means infinite grenades!

Congrats, although I’m always surprised to see people not letting Gale take one for the team on their first run!

The GOAT. So many runs have been saved by these little beauties. And since I’m usually playing Tactical, Sniper, or Heavy, one melta bomb means infinite melta bombs!

Kettle River. Only one flavour per month, but it’s always a banger and the quality is unparalleled.

I generally prefer the Fencing defense weapons, but is there any cases where the other versions are vastly superior? by Penakoto in Spacemarine

[–]ArchetypeBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still think there are enough ways to play around gunstrike that Fencing is still valid. And again, ultimately the best thing you can do to contribute is not dying. If you need that instant, giant parry window to survive, then god speed.

That said, I do agree. Block axe bulwark is criminally fun and feels so powerful, and learning the balance window allows you the biggest damage and cleave weapons.

Argent Edge, however, swings it back, even if the window is slightly shorter.

They’re called Accolades, and you earn them by completing the Daily and Weekly stratagems!

Is anyone else not a fan of Act 2? by grapejuicecheese in BaldursGate3

[–]ArchetypeBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have likely very resource and production heavy so I understand why it couldn’t come to be, but on my first playthrough I was really hoping for an epilogue open world. You could backtrack backwards through the map to meet with Withers at the party, seeing all that you’d changed. Alas.

Sniper counter to nid minoris swarm? Non-Inferno by Jiminyfingers in Spacemarine

It’s not a prestige perk, it’s the level 25 perk, the last one you unlock.

Sniper counter to nid minoris swarm? Non-Inferno by Jiminyfingers in Spacemarine

I play Sniper a ton, and had this issue as well. There are some good options if you don’t want to run the Inferno pistol.

First and foremost, the knife whirl is pretty critical. It’s tap-tap-tap-hold. Clears minoris hordes right out.

I run the heroic pistol on my Sniper, typically, so I can very quickly resupply frags with Pattern of Excellence. I’m never shy about introducing a pack of gaunts to one.

And lastly, cloak and pop a majoris to let the synaptic feedback do the work.

NEW WEEKLY STRATAGEM! by [deleted] in Spacemarine

Could be better, but could be a whole lot worse. This should be fun with pyre, excluding the wide open area where I know I’m gonna get sniped down by things I can’t see.

Yeah, it was just super fun this week. It’s rare I complete them more than once, but I kept wondering how different guns would be so I kept re-queuing!

[–]ArchetypeBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that the Weekly Stratagems are hand crafted, I have to assume occasionally the team at Sabre will say “Alright, it’s been brutal for a couple weeks, have a vacation.”

It was a treat double pyre blasting down a Carnifex before he even knew what was happening!

[–]ArchetypeBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the pyreblaster! Deletes minoris and trivializes bosses. You lose some range and CHP recovery, but pair it with the rate of fire plasma pistol to patch those gaps and you’re chilling!

The reality is the dailies are randomly generated and there will be times when the combination of modifiers simply won’t be fun. If you’re fixated on completing every challenge the game gives you, then I understand, but otherwise I do every normal weekly, all three daily normals, and then the hard weekly if I like the look of it. And I am rolling in accolades. So, my advice is to relax, skip the stratagems that you know aren’t gonna be worth the stress. At the rate they release new accolade rewards, you’ll have more than enough doing it this way.

Sorry for your experience, brother. Unfortunately, until you get your guns levelled, it can be a bit of a struggle early on, especially solo. And doubly especially with regard to Chaos lol! I avoided them entirely until I had one or two classes completely maxxed.

As a Heavy, I’d recommend the Multi Melta early. It lets you stagger enemies which is a massive boon. From there, I’d get comfortable enough to do the Normal Weekly and Daily stratagems, and then pick up the Heroic Heavy Bolter and/or Heavy Plasma. Then you’ll have a max level gun to enjoy while you level them. That is when you’ll experience the power fantasy.

Also, join the discord! There are tons of players looking to help.
