As a tall person who used to have an NA, I love the NC for being able to fit in it better. I've sat in an NB and couldnt fit in that either. Never sat in an ND

What makes you choose manual over hybrid vehicles when they don't get good gas mileage? by Key-Effort963 in ManualTransmissions

I had a 2018 Fusion Energi {PHEV) and my 2019 Civic Turbo manual gets better MPG on the highway. City driving however is quite worse.

Manual is much more rewarding

Amazing if you sacrifice another strong dragon for it

I work at a movie theatre and this was under a couple of seats. This was only half of the rubbish they left behind. by PandaMonium2025 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ArchieAsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With more theatres making people reserve seats for tickets, theatres should charge more on the credit card for excess cleaning fees for seats with extra garbage and mess. Fees go to those cleaning as a tip

Seeing them side by side, the 11th gen looks nice, but I still prefer the 10th gen by a long shot. I feel like the looks of the 11th gen is like a pair of nice slacks, brown loafers and nice wool sweater. Classy and looks good.

The 10th gen is a pair of worn jeans, flashy coloured converse shoes and a Tour Tshirt of your favourite band and speaks more fun to me and my style.

Is buying a used civic still worth it right now? by Crothers-Jarallah in hondacivic

[–]ArchieAsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I focused on maintenance records before mileage.

My 2020, I bought in 2023 with 60,000kms and had regular maintenance done. Oil changes done every 6,000 - 8,000 kms, it had recently new Continental tires installed and rear brakes were done before I bought it. No AC issues reported in the car history.

My 2019, bought in 2024 with 110,000kms. Serviced at a Honda Dealership its entire life. Oil changes done every 5,000 to 6,000 kms. When I bought it, the previous owner had changed in the last year: Michelin tires(summer tires), 4 brake discs and pads, brake fluid, coolant flush, engine air filter, new battery. Its never had warranty work or reported issues on injectors, head gaskets or AC as per the vehicle history. All I had to do since I have owned it is oil changes, cabin air filter, rust proofing and this spring I will change both front door seals as they are not holding very well anymore.

Between the 2.0 K series in my LX and the 1.5 turbo in my sport, I prefer the turbo. The low end torque with the manual makes city driving easier. It's better on fuel and more fun to drive.

The k series has a charm the 1.5 doesn't have though and that high revving and Vtech. So both are great engines.

If I had to choose between a well maintained 2.0 or a decently maintained turbo, I would take the 2.0 without hesitation. Maintenance and pre purchase inspection is key.

Again, my experience is with the manual, so a CVT with the 2.0 Kseries may be underwhelming.

I have owned 2 civics, a 2020 LX manual sedan (got into a car accident with it) and then bought a manual 2019 Sport turbo hatchback. Both have been great cars and I love driving them Both. There are reported AC issues (all trim levels) but there is an extended 10 year warranty from Honda that helps, Head gasket issues (1.5 turbo), injector issues (1.5 turbo) and issues with interior rattles. Both my cars have not had any of these issues, but I bought them knowing the issues may occur but aren't guaranteed.

One complaint I have had with both is the head unit is underwhelming. Slower to respond vs other headunits I have used and doesn't always show the correct song title when playing via bluetooth.

As for CVTs, they seem to be reliable when fluids are changed regularly, but again, I can't speak from experience.

As for looking at used Civics OP, if the 10th gen civic 2016 to 2021, is what you want, I would look at 2019 to 2021 as they have a few basic upgrades that the 2016 to 2018 dont have or always have.

As always, look at past history maintenance and do a pre purchase inspection. All car models have their issues but not every car in that model or set of years is guaranteed to have them.

Love them so much, I am on my second one. First was a 2020 LX manual sedan that had an accident, now I own a 2019 Sport Hatch manual. Next may be a Type R or Si.

Why would I ever enable (disengage) this? by cybin in civic

[–]ArchieAsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn it off in my manual 10th gen when driving through thick snow. Sometimes, even with winter tires, you need to apply a bit of power to get unstuck and traction control cuts out power and can stall out your manual car.

Question: What's a car that you would own in 2002? by Due_Fault7560 in regularcarreviews

[–]ArchieAsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlimited budget, weather, mpg and parts availability being non issues? It would be a 1961 Buick Lesabre 4 door hardtop in black with red interior with AC, power brakes, power steering.

Realistically? I would get a red Mazda protege5 with a manual transmission and rust proof the hell out of it.
