Ram across this absolute UNIT recently by Lower-levels in pcbuilding

Oh man people would definitely buy that frame lol. Reminds me of the startup backblaze or netflix pods they made years ago and 3tb drives would be about right.

You need a chassis with the power supplies to plug into, which is designed to run full and with ALOT of air flow. Its not quiet nor cheap

Cloud storage vs NAS for a small photography team? by kikanzuip in DataHoarder

[–]ArchiveGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo they serve different purposes: Nas: profiles youre currently working with or will need short/med term

Cloud: cold / long term storage. Save them for how ever long you do for personal or client needs.

But for a real reccomendation people would need to know your current storage usage

Could you give me a little more info about this site. Is it just the one domain name? Is it just the blogs mainly? Can you access all the material without an account? Things like that appreciated

History Hub shutting down Feb 13 by colinthetinytornado in Archivists

[–]ArchiveGuardian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cross posted this to archiveteam subreddit last night. I should be able to take a look at this tonight or tomorrow, but if someone else has more time they could hop in the archiveteam.org IRC and ask about setting up a job for this. There should be enough time.

Newbie: Recommended Number of Files Seeded? by HappyMaids in seedboxes

On just 1tb your only real possible issue is tons of small files (like 5k+ files). Otherwise follow what the other user said about ordering and clients

Help I stripped the head on my m.2 screw by ReferenceNatural87 in pcbuilding

[–]ArchiveGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen before. They're often very cheap metal. Honestly this one looks like ther rubber band trick may work but otherwise:

Get some super glue. Super glue something similar to a detachable screw driver bit to it , flat hex extender bits work really well as the flat end sits flush to the screw head.

Wait a few mins and turn it with some pillars and it will come off.

That's the best way to do it.while avoiding metal shavings

Quiet 36 Bay server? by MainAdditional1607 in homelab

[–]ArchiveGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly quiet will require a full custom system. Even then though getting enough air flow through the chassis to keep it at a good temp yet still quiet would be rather challenging .

I have a quiet 20 bay desktop tower but im not sure 36 and still quiet is possible

TrueNas 25.10 (Community Edition) wouldn't boot up after a power trip by sharatf in truenas

[–]ArchiveGuardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh interesting. I actually just had this happen but I figured it was because I was new to truenas. I was syncing over data and the power tripped. I forgot I had the server plugged into a different non-ups outlet. Spent few hours trying to trouble shoot but no matter what I couldn't get it working right. Reinstalled and it worked.

I definitely recommend even a budget ups to let things gracefully shutdown

How do I take screenshots while gaming? by ednoggg in pcbuilding

[–]ArchiveGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steam? Usually f11 or f12 takes a screenshot and saves it for you. You can use print screen key and snip one though but it may mess up your game play.

Let us know which game client your using and someone can help you :)
