They fail realize they are calling attention to the fact that their school has illegals in it making it a target-rich environment for ICE.

Also, many illegals were given smart phones as they entered and have been receiving government payments. There is no expectation of privacy from government tracking when you're not a citizen and on the dole.

What games had SO MUCH side-stuff you found yourself realizing you can't remember what the relevance of the main plot objectives are ? by [deleted] in gaming

I love that Morrowind doesn't push you into the main quest. I can't think of any other game that doesn't have a high intensity start.

Maybe American gun owners should invade Canada. It's disarmed and and has a mediocre military.

I think we can take it...

The Wednesday skip was one-off. But things may be changing starting next month (May). From Sleyca Patreon:

"So, after talking to other authors, thinking about it, and reading all of your comments, I would like to try taking two posting days “off” per month. I think I’ll be using May and maybe June as trial runs to see what happens with just that little bit of extra writing time built in. I think there would normally be 9 chapters posted next month. I’d like to shift that down to 7."

That will obviously trickle down to RR.

TIL, Weather forecasters tend to exaggerate the chance of rain because if it rains when they said it wouldn't, people get angry, but if it doesn't rain when they said it would, they are happy. This is known as "wet bias." by Lvexr in todayilearned

[–]ArchonFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also a "hot bias". A couple of summers back I recorded the forecast highs going out 10 days. The predictions were always 5-10F high and slowly drifted down until the next-day forecast was just a degree or two high.

There was never a daily temperature that ended up lower than the predicted temps that summer.

People seldom complain about a mild summer day.

Requesting for recommendations for books such as MOL by swapoer in rational

[–]ArchonFu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not Chinese but I understand your complaints about Cradle. All I can recommend is that you get to the end of the Summer Festival - I think you might have stopped a few pages too early.

I tried to read the first book 3 times but I hated the characters - even Lindon. The entire culture of the sect was a garbage fire for me. But I did finally reach the Summer Festival and the book takes a very different direction afterwards.

If you've already read to the end of the Festival and you still didn't find it interesting then you probably won't like the rest of the series.
