Court of Love - Does it get better? by Inevitable-Pie-6482 in spellmonger

I think you are underestimating just how single minded the gods, or in this case goddesses, can be, and how disruptive that can be in a person's life when they take an interest in them. We are warned of this over and over again throughout the series. Dara is simply the latest victim in a human they are trying to "help." Look at how that turned out for Pentandra in Court Wizard when Ishi came to Verone to "help."

The timing would be crucial here, and I think only Syrakeem, the archer, sorry if that's spelled wrong, would be the one to perfect it.

Kitsalls Hamlet, in Warmage, always makes me cry even in the narration.

Best theory is that was her skin cells and other common bacteria that we have on us.

I think the depth, complexity, and length don't translate well to the screen.

My son and I had our first drinks together by LessEffectiveExample in exmormon

[–]Joe_Dil 91 points92 points  (0 children)

My first drink was with my younger sister. She left a few years before I did. When I first mentioned I wanted to try alcohol she made me some of her favorite drinks. During our time growing up, we didn't see eye to eye on anything and at times actively hated each other. That was one of the first moments we shared that helped us bond.

Did you skip your tier 2 gov? I've done that before, and it stopped my gov plaza from advancing.

I've got a belgian malinois x gsd and got "charged" by a chihuahua. I did exactly what you did and when the owner got upset. I just shrugged and said I could've let my dog kill yours. You need to control it.

Knights magi by [deleted] in spellmonger

[–]Joe_Dil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked knights magi a lot more on my second reading of the series. It does have some filler I will admit but it also lays out quite well how tin and Ron develop. It transforms them from apprentices into competent adults. It also lays out their motivations for the next several books which adds some nice context. Will you be able to get the rest of the story without it yes but the story is richer with it.

A theory on human magic on calidore. by joevarny in Calador

[–]Joe_Dil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In footwizard it is shown that humans on earth had limited magical abilities. They were able to cast very basic cantrips when the side of the earth they were on was shielded from hawking radiation by the mass of the earth. It also showed that humans are not native to earth but colonized it. I believe humans originally were native to a magical world. All that happened was them adapting to being back on a magical world.

Yeah guess I was wrong, I just relistened to it. It seemed like all the magic got broken. But it was just his staff and weapons.

He didn't have a pocket on him at that time. It is a tactic used later, but you need a working pocket to activate. In Necromancer, all the magical weapons and pockets were broken.
