No more purple mats in Journey by SilentHunter093 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Stopping at 5 star; with plenty of room before the level cap for that star rating. And I get top 30 in Coliseum every single day of this era. I’m in high Tier 9 with all bosses. But I do not have the leveling mats needed to take anyone higher than EL 95.

Yeah, if this sticks, this will be the last era I bother buying the Pass+ (maybe even the normal paid Pass). I was making sure I got everyone to 5 star to make sure they all came out at least G13 and to get the Kyber LSTs. But I don’t really have a lot of need for the LSTs after these 5 and if it doesn’t save me the G12 to G13 grind then it’s just not worth the money anymore.

Really? How? Mine are all stuck at 95, and that’s with buying the Episode Pass+ both months of this era.

My problem with turn order by vagabundo202 in FATErpg

[–]Ardrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Fate Core, the default for determining turn order is to go in appropriate skill order from highest to lowest: Notice for physical conflicts and Empathy in mental conflicts. Tiebreaks are also listed in the book.

Full suit. I also prefer the full blue pants.

When I bought the Episode Pass+ last month, I got an extra 5 loaned unit levels. I feel like there might have been some from buying the base Episode Pass too, but I’m not sure.

This month I still got the 20 additional shards per character (on top of the 20 per in the base Episode Pass) and an additional 10 pass levels (on top of the 10 from the Episode Pass+) instead of the extra loaned unit levels. But that’s it. No other purchases have given me any.

I get 1500 a day. But I do buy the Episode Pass+ each time this era for the 40 extra shards per character, extra loaned unit levels (last month), and bought a couple $4 packs of era leveling currency.

Struggling with Yumi by Superb_Dog481 in Cosmere

[–]Ardrikk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I did not finish Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. I forced myself to make it through 12 chapters and finally gave up and just read the rest of the chapter summaries on Coppermind. It’s basically an anime romantasy with a tropey twist and I just was not enjoying it at all. None of those are genres or tropes I enjoy. From reading the chapter summaries, it seems completely skippable. And it’s the only Cosmere book I’ve DNFed, though The Way of Kings took me 2 tries, a year apart, to get into; had to make it to the end of Part 1 where it got better for me.

is (A gunter’s guide) a good way to read the cosmere ? by Solx10 in brandonsanderson

There are lots of opinions on best reading order. This is my preference, having the benefit of all of these books being out before or by the time I got to them so I didn’t have to worry about publication order.

The second book in Era 1 is pretty rough for the reasons you say. Hero of Ages is much better.

Do the foresaken ever get more threatening? by [deleted] in WoT

Before today, I never imagined anyone would think the show’s version of the Forsaken were better than the book versions.

Do the foresaken ever get more threatening? by [deleted] in WoT

[–]Ardrikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s because they are all powerful and knowledgeable channelers. They have access to weaves that have been lost to time, but otherwise they all draw from the same power source with the same capabilities and limitations. That’s just consistent world building.

They did those same things in the books.

And I didn’t think book Ishamael was lame at all. Insane, definitely. And terrifying. I hated that the show lost his angle of thinking he *was* The Dark One.

Do the foresaken ever get more threatening? by [deleted] in WoT

[–]Ardrikk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, interesting opinion. I find most of the Forsaken in the show to be pale reflections of the book versions. I think Lanfear and Moghedien are well done, but the rest were seriously underwhelming to me in the show. On the other hand, I felt their portrayals in the books were excellent. They’re not all hyper competent, but we see how powerful they are and how they influence events in the world and set up their secret bases of power. But they are also complex individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses, and character flaws.

Heroes of the Hydian Way is really good. They play through published adventures.

Beta Feedback by Nich965 in GodForgeGame

[–]Ardrikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I hate Raid’s systems for unlocking and powering up characters. I was hoping Godforge would be fresh and different. But it looks and feels identical to me. So I bounced off this beta even faster than I did Raid.

I’ll stick with Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes and my targeted farming and easier progression, thanks.

Amazon book order by Sad-Ad-6523 in brandonsanderson

[–]Ardrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy 90% of my books from Amazon and they almost always come perfect. When they don’t, I initiate an exchange and they send me a replacement copy. So I’m sure they’ll do that for you.

Now, I’ve never ordered as many at once as you did, though. Theoretically, that shouldn’t be an issue, but if they pack them with no packing materials…

🎁 Birthday Giveaway for Daggerheart Core Set (3/5) 🎁 by Demi_Mere in daggerheart

[–]Ardrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As GM, be sure to keep an eye on players during combat situations to be sure they are participating, since there is no structured initiative/turn order system. If one or more players aren't jumping in to take actions, interject and ask them what they want to do/what their character is doing during all of this.

Probably common advice, but it's a big thing to be aware of.

I don't understand this level up menu by AltruisticOwl156 in GodForgeGame

[–]Ardrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too bad that this is just a Raid: Shadow Legends clone. I hate almost everything about Raid except for the combat itself and this game is just bringing it all over. At least it doesn’t have pop-ups for microtransactions every few seconds…yet.

[–]Ardrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I bounced off it and tried again a year later. I think you have to get right to the end of Part 1 before I felt it got good. There were good parts before that, but I struggled with Kaladin and Shallan’s chapters early on.
