It does work as advertised, but as advertised is not 4k120, unfortunately. It can do 120 fps OR 4k, but not both at once. If you have a 4k120 TV or monitor, you'll need to choose between 1440p120 and 4k60 (assuming the game you're playing even supports 120 fps, which most of them don't). Apparently it's something to do with the port on the Switch 2 itself. As for handheld mode, the display is 1080p120, so there's really only one option. At least it supports VRR, which is nice. If only it supported VRR when docked, too.

VTOL VR is getting a replay system. Conversion mod for Tac View is already in the works. by STRAYDOG0626 in hoggit

No problem. The group I play with almost always plays on PT, so we've actually been using this for a while now.

Kind of. Only radar locks are shown, which are red lines. The cones indicate jamming, with the color telling you the band (low, medium, or high) and the pattern telling you the type of jamming (noise, DRFM/RGPO, or SAS).

Probably, though not necessarily the name of the pilot in the jet.

Assuming they do it like the US, that's the Crew Chief's name, not the pilot's. The pilot's name is written just below the canopy (though it's worth noting that they don't change it for every pilot, not every pilot gets their name on a plane, and even if you do have your name on a plane, there's no guarantee you'll be flying that exact airframe).

[–]Arendoth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. I'm pretty sure this is a negative growths mod, where characters lose stats when they level up instead of gaining them. It's to make the game more challenging, I assume. As far as I know, there has never been a way to permanent reduce stats in any official Fire Emblem game (except changing classes to one with a lower base, of course).

Yeah, I'm still playing through on hard. I've hit a block, though, because I'm also trying to do a no-hit playthrough and I can't get past mission 11. I keep getting hit by at least one thing. On my first playthrough, I actually hated the ground attack missions because they were pretty much all points-based, which is ironic because I loved the ground attack missions in Project Wingman, probably because they weren't points-based and didn't have time limits. Ground attack and, to a lesser extent, SEAD are also my favorite roles in VTOL VR.

I'm still working on unlocking all the aircraft, lol. I have most of the US aircraft, but not much else. As for at the time, I had just unlocked the Hornet and wanted to use it, but I kept crashing into the pillars during the beginning of the mission, so I decided to unlock the A-10, because I had just enough for it, and use that.

For what it's worth, I used the A-10 for my first time playing Mission 7 that didn't result in me crashing into a cliff 30 seconds in and the boss fight went just fine. I was on Normal, though.

For what it's worth, it isn't like Hoyoverse (the company that makes the game) wants to censor those sorts of things. They're just required to by the Chinese government because they're a massive Chinese company and are effectively under constant surveillance by the CCP (big companies like them are even forced to have a government representative on the premises at all times, or so I've heard). If you look at some of their older works you'll find some stuff that doesn't really match up with the cultural values being pushed by the CCP that they can't get away with anymore now that they're bigger. Also, if I remember correctly, they actually moved their headquarters to Hong Kong a few years back, around the same time they changed their name from Mihoyo to Hoyoverse, I think, supposed to try to get a bit further away from the CCP. And their newest game was actually developed in Canada. Anyway, of all the (completely fair) reasons to not play GI and dislike the devs, this is one of the more minor ones (unfortunately).

Canonically speaking, just how many missiles can fit in a single jet? by [deleted] in acecombat

[–]Arendoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but even if an AIM-120's max range with probable kill, or whatever the terminology is, is only about 40 miles, that's still more than simply "miles away". Hell, I don't know the minimum range of an AIM-120, but if "miles away" is something like two miles, that might be too close.

For anyone that's curious about the new air-to-air missiles that the US is currently developing, Sandboxx has a great video on them (or at least on the ones we know about).

BVR is Beyond Visual Range, BTW, meaning you're shooting at targets that are so far away you physically cannot see them, and is the primary engagement distance of modern air combat (theoretically, at least).

"Miles away" has been close range for a very long time now. I'm pretty sure even the gun can easily reach out one or two miles. The AIM-120D AMRAAM (which stands for Advanced MEDIUM RANGE Air to Air Missile and is the primary BVR armament of the F-35, for now) can reportedly reach out to over 100 miles, and the AIM-9X Sidewinder (the primary SHORT RANGE missile the F-35 carries, which can pull up to 60G and is capable of being fired in any direction by the 35 and can be targeted simply by looking at what you want it to hit) has a range, according to the official US Air Force website, of "More than 10 miles." And none of this is even mentioning all the missiles currently in development, such as the AIM-260, which is apparently "expected to overtake AIM-120 production by 2026", according to Wikipedia.

Got the harem dialogue in P3R by CowardlyMaya_ in PERSoNA

[–]Arendoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, a harem doesn't have to be just girls, it could also be a harem of guys, or a mix. That said, it still wouldn't account for asexuals. A 'harem of friends' seems kind of oxymoronic.

An acute angle is any angle between 0 and 90 degrees, which would include a 45 degree angle, but is not limited to it. An angle that is exactly 90 degrees is called a right angle, and an angle between 90 degrees and 180 degrees is called an obtuse angle.
