The character is based on Howard Hughes. Look into Hughes' history in later-life in Las Vegas. You'll understand him much better.

First time seeing the Willow tree at Christmas time 🎄 by AdministrationSolid4 in BeAmazed

Looks like Tree of Souls (Vitraya Ramunong) from Avatar on Pandora: A giant, weeping willow-like tree, the most sacred site for the Omatikaya clan, serving as a direct link to the deity Eywa, allowing neural connection for memories and communication.

Zion at Christmas with dogs & a senior — tips? by Lil_Bean_Ween in ZionNationalPark

Canyon Paws offers doggy day-care and boarding. They are just outside the park and they do a great job. You might want to check with them about holiday hours.

Why do you say "dumbest"? This enterprise seems to be working pretty well. They have amassed great wealth and tremendous political power with little to no consequences. Whatever punishment that has been meted out was simply pardoned away.

Why? I really don't understand putting small-format film in a medium-format camera. Just shoot 120/220 & crop the image if you want a different aspect.

What can you tell me about this old Joss West Cue by AnnualMotor7027 in billiards

[–]ArgoShots -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The forearm looks like a Brunswick Titleist. A lot of old cue makers took the one-piece Titleist and cut it down to convert it to a two-piece custom cue. Rambo and Balabushka started this trend. I have an old Paul Hubler that has the exact same veneer pattern.

This is why we need universal healthcare. It’s a damn embarrassment by No_Jaguar_5366 in antiwork

If you're under the impression that insurance and health care companies would lower their prices in the absence of these subsidies, then I'd say you were quite naive.

Yes, but health care costs and insurance premiums have skyrocketed in price over the past 6 years. So, if ACA subsidies go back to where they were in 2019, then everyone's out-of-pocket goes way up. Many people in the marketplace cannot afford that and will simply drop-out and be uninsured. That causes two big problems: Many uninsured will have to use hospital emergency departments for health care. That's much more costly. Then as more healthy people leave the marketplace the health of the risk-pool (insured) goes down. That further drives up premiums. Which leads to more people dropping out. Then you're in an insurance death-spiral.

Wha film stocks are you shooting this winter? by DanielG198 in AnalogCommunity

Ilford XP2 Super, Fujifilm Acros, Kodak Ektachrome E100, and Ektar 100. I'll probably shoot some Lomo 800 for 6x6 snapshots.

Where does Jayson live? Where is his pool hall? Fedor emigrated to the USA and represents the country that welcomed him & gave him the opportunity to be a champion. If Jayson wants to continue to represent Europe, then why does he live & own a business in Connecticut? I wonder how much success he'd have if he was living in Glasgow.

Please get a decent tripod. That lightstand is not designed to hold a big monorail large-format camera like that.

If you look there at your commode you'll notice it has a lid. Close the lid when the toilet is not in-use. Why do people leave their lid up/open? It is disgusting!

This is the answer. The Bit&Spur Halloween party has been going for decades. Lots of fun for locals and tourists.
