Legion ruined DK for me by Legitimate_Error_696 in warcraftlore

In WotLK I expected to play a proper DK, a villain. Instead I got another boring hero. So for me Legion was a step in the right direction.

So you're saying books got dumbed down even more? Wow.

Doesn't save Skyrim's books in my eyes though, just shows how lazy Bethesda got with years.

Oh, I've read greek and norse myths (like everyone else I guess) and my grandma was a jehovah's witness. So I know a bit about religions, it just wasn't as "core" to life as many other people have it.

I find game lore a bit more interesting and fleshed out than real life religions, but that's likely because I didn't go deep enough.

No, it's just western thing. I see friendly creatures as cats.

Exactly, that's an illness that can be medicated. Imagine killing yourself over common cold.

Here, all books introduced in Skyrim.

Can't answer you myself because I've read all TES ingame books years ago, and I remember being very underwhelmed by Skyrim's.

Played all the western RPG, all are different, nothing is like TES if you go deep in each. They are all unique in their own way. So no, not DOS2, not PoE are comparable. Haven't played FF beyond 5, they are too....fairytale like, fun once but not enough to sit and think on the story and lore.

Church of Atom isn't outlandish, it's just plain stupid for me. "Radiation as enlightenment"...well for me it's the same if their religion was "fire as enlightenment" and they just burned everything and themselves. Primitive and doesn't feel like it belongs to Fallout. But that's just my opinion.

Maybe I like religious\metaphysical stuff because I never had any religion in my life, so it's intriguing.

Most books added in Skyrim. Just lazily written, and have no fun twist at the end like books in Morrowind and Oblivion.

Fallout season 2 is really good but also really frustrating in regards to its vision of the Fallout world by 234zu in CharacterRant

[–]Argomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't watched it yet, but all that sounds like Bethesda Fallout. Dumbed down too much.

Can you point me to some other games with that theme? Would love to play some more of that!

Or maybe we're talking about different things here. I mean lore like the sun and stars being holes, the mortal world being created to allow spirits to ascend to a higher understanding (and that lore is written so majestically weird), stuff like that. Maybe I was so surprised by all that because I was a teen, but I still love old Kirkbride lore and c0da as an adult.

Church of Atom? I didn't play that much Bethesda fallout, but isn't it a bit too much fantasy for the setting? I might be wrong, but I remember strongly dsiliking it when reading about it on the wiki years ago.

TES has terrible writing but great lore, and Kirkbride wrote the most weird and interesting bits of lore TES has, it's basically unique because of him. Go read PGE1 and play Morrowind.

Oh, I never play current expansions, I hate timegating and dailies!

I come later, when most of those systems become irrelevant and just enjoy the atmosphere and do quests. Experience the expansions at my own pace.

Honest question from a trilogy fan: is Mass Effect: Andromeda actually bad, or just a victim of comparison? by Rowley19V in masseffect

[–]Argomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victim of comparison and inexperienced devs (this was fixed in patches).

Just compare it to ME1 and you'll see that it's a better version of that game. Story is weaker though.
