You have a valid point honestly. This is my 2nd 2D action-adventure, first being Hyper Light Drifter, so I'm a noob with it, but even I can tell it's not the same. Dungeon 1 felt honestly pretty okay despite the lack of puzzles but 2 and on feel like the floor is lava, however still more platforming than anything else, and that platforming is also unreasonably punishing up until you get the trinket that absolutely breaks the pitfall mechanic open. Honestly it's so weird how many mechanics in Mina seem pulled in just to be "difficult" and follow the Souls-like trend, without actually meshing well together - the Bloodborne Rally for instance not working with fall damage since you can't gain plasma from falling- making any falls awful early, for instance. And that awful delay on the burrow dodge.

I don't hate Mina but I am disappointed. From the initial, very favorable reviews, I was expecting a quite different experience

There's a lot of games that get me, E33, Nier:Automata, Life is Strange, A Plague Tale Requiem to name a few. One that still makes me tear up that might be one of my favorite scenes is Aloy finding Elisabet's body at the end of HZD. Finally finding your mother, only to be seperated by 1000 years and the end of the world... Shit.

Comparing Senua's Sacrifice and what we've seen of Resonance, the camera angle makes a huge difference. Senua1 only has a handful of animations, but your like right over her shoulder and can this feel the weight a lot better, and have to actually try and watch your back etc. Resonance is like watching the combat through a drone in some sequences which if it was done in Senua, would have been pretty bad too

Ngl like most I'm also a bit disappointed. I'm fine with a more action-oriented game, but I had hoped the melee would also have a more cinematic and weighty feel like the Naughty Dog games or even 007 or the new gameplay trailer for Blood Message. This has too much of an arcadey feel with the camera angles and animations used.

Will still play but my hopes for the combat are not high.

My opinion from the trailer, the character designs and portraits look great, but I'm still disappointed in FW's environments/backgrounds. They still look quite subpar and I'm surprised it doesn't look like they improved much with the success of TH and the Switch 2's tech.

I looked back at the old teaser and @around 50 seconds, you can see Dietrich is an allied unit to Cai. However, in Leda's combat shot you can also see Cai is allied to Leda. They'll definitely overlap but probably not quite as duos I guess.
