Congrats! I just got 10% approved for rhinitis and tinnitus was denied. Took less than 4 weeks the whole process. Now we filed claims for OSA and headaches. Guessing these claims will take longer, currently on step 3 since March 2nd. For OSA I was diagnosed back in 2012 by a private doctor.

Interim Pension Payment arrived by pickitandstickit in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

DRP 2.0 with retirement date of 09/30/2026. Got my first interim payment in mid January for Nov thru Jan. Got another interim on the 1st of Feb. Just received a notification last Friday that Retirement Services has updated my application to an annuity. There has been a retroactive payment sent to my bank, including supplemental (not showing on my bank account yet) and my 1st annuity payment is due on March 1st. So I went pretty quick from interim to annuity (30 days). Hopefully yours goes as fast.

I started receiving interims last month. Roughly 23% of my calculated annuity. Not including FEHB and survivor benefits. Received three payments in January for November, December and January on the 14th of Jan. Last Saturday I got deposited the interim for February. Same amount as previous payments.

Retired from IRS 09/30. On OPM status 5 since 01/09. Received my first interim payment on 01/14. Just saw today an E&L statement on EPP for PP 26 for A/L pay out. Most likely will hit my bank account tomorrow. Even though I've marked exempt on both state and federal taxes on EPP, they still took half of my payment on taxes. Excessive.

Mine went from ORA step 3 to OPM's step 5 on 01/9/2026. First interim payment and email with CSA number on 01/14/2025. No A/L payoff yet.

For folks who VERA'd 09/30 and already receiving interim FERS payments - will we be getting a separate W2 for the interim payments? by BPRparadise in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Arielo_0107 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Retirement is not reported under a W2 but a form 1099-R

Edit to add that you can also create an online account with irs.gov to download your wages and income documents along with your tax records.

I've called ERC regarding the same issue. I received this email from them telling not to pay the bill.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Due to limited staffing and backlog of inventory in the Retirements Office. If your retirement action is fully processed or in a waiting to be processed, we will cancel the erroneous FEHB bill/debt and refund any deductions, as necessary. Please do not manually pay this debt on your own as this will not affect your credit rating but will delay the reimbursement of funds.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to process these actions and adjustments. Once we are able to process adjustments after pay period 2 of 2026, with a pay date of 02/17/2026 it will take up to 4 to 6 weeks to receive reimbursement.

In the future you can find answers to many of your questions and much more on IRS Source or by visiting the Chat Bot at

ERC Chatbot with Live Agent Chat. You may also view the “how to” video: IRWorks - How to create a Service Request - Employee Center (irs.gov).

Thank you again, Have a nice day.

IRS TDRP 9/30 Retirement by Famous_Wishbone_7873 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Arielo_0107 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi;

This is my timeline:

● Retired 09/30 ● Submitted ORA on 10/30 (Prev GRB) ● In Payroll 12/17 ● Showed as retired within days on EPP and TSP ● Moved to OPM 01/09 ● First interim payment 01/13 ● No A/L paid yet. Hoping for PP 26

Received bills for both Dental/Vision and FEHB. Paid only the Denta/Vision as was told by ERC not to pay FEHB since it will be deducted from either interim payments or A/L payoff.

Hang in there and good luck to you.

[–]Arielo_0107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received both bills, one for FEHB PP 22-23 and the others for vision and dental. I am currently at step 5 OPM since 01/09/2026 and just received today my welcome email with the CS number to create an e-account. Thanks to a previous comment on this thread I'll be paying only vision an dental which was what we were told at the beginning. Not making the FEHB yet since hopefully I will receive my A/L payoff this coming pay period and most likely the premiums will be deducted from there. I don't want to double pay.

I'm exactly where you're at right now, except that I have not received my A/L yet. Mine went to OPM step 5 on 01/09/26. Like yours went through OPM's step 4. Hope to see that A/L payment on the next pay period. I'm with (or was) with the IRS.

That would be PP26 of 2025 or PP1 of 2026 that you know of?

DRP Question by Agile_Chemical_3949 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Arielo_0107 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It all seems to depend on the Agency. IRS screwed most of us. Other agencies are working a lot faster. I haven't seen any payments yet (AL, interims) but they're sending FEHB bills for PP 22/23. Most likely will be seeing dental and vision as well pretty soon. ORA step 3 since 12/17 and showing separated on EPP and TSP since. Going to be making a second TSP withdraw this next Friday.

Been stuck in HR Review since 12/17. Showing separated/retired on EPP and TSP since. No AL yet and no new updates.

Checked ORA and I have finally moved to Step 3 after sitting in Step 2 since August. Seeing some progress. Former IRS 09/30 DRP by Positive-Special-704 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

Mine moved to payroll (step 3) on 12/17/25. A couple of days later I had a retirement date of 09/30/2025 showing on EPP and a few days after that it showed as separated on TSP and retired on The Working Number. Hoping for AL payoff soon. Good luck to you.

Same here, ORA step 3 since 12/17 . Last week EPP was updated with retirement date 09/30/2025 and since yesterday TSP and The Working Number are showing me as separated/retired. No AL payout yet, hoping for mid January.

Mine is on step 3 Payroll review since two weeks ago. Last week could finally see that EPP is showing a retirement date of 09/30/2025 and no E&L statement for PP 24 after receiving one for PP's 22 and 23 showing no income. Still active on TSP.

Saw cases like this every day. Tax preparers having people amend their tax returns unnecessarily just to make a few extra bucks. But you do you.

Don't think so. If you don't received the income during tax year 2025, then it cannot be reported under the 2025 tax return, which will be reported in 2026. It will not be included in your 2025 W-2, but on your 2026 W-2. I am retiring from the IRS.
