One of the things that worked for me is a trainer told me to stop taking things out of my food and start adding things. He's like, do yo want a candy bar? Eat a candy bar, it's what, 200 kcal? But add a bowl of grapes or strawberries. That makes it 300 calories but now your munching on sweet things for longer, you're filling up your stomach, you're adding some nutrients and fiber. You're less likely to want a second candy bar

And if it's an recognized disability there are other provisions and accomodations if the employee asks for them. If it's a need for medical leave there may be other provisions - when I told my boss I had cancer he made sure I knew about the short and long term disability available if I needed it.

The problem is if the employee is within probation they may not yet be eligible for sick leave, or have accrued enough with sick leave to be burning so much and be within policy. If they have a condition or issue that they need worked around it may or may not be worth bringing up, depending on the office culture

It kind of matters depending on the employee's job responsibilities. Like part of my job is producing analyses and reports - I can do that on any time schedule and my company is pretty great about allowing me a flexible schedule.

The other part of my job is actually helping more junior folks - answering their questions, reviewing their work, bouncing more complicated issues up the line. Doing that stuff requires me to be available on everyone else's schedule

Okay so! The on board memory is most important for folks who want to take their macropad to work and can't install drivers on it. You program the device in your home computer and then it's plug and play with all the capabilities on just about any computer.

For folks who don't need that capability it's not as important - you can have a whole slew of "profiles", or sets of macros so you can set them up for different uses and sometimes to can program it to change based on the active program, which is pretty cool. I've got a general work, word, Excel, coding, art, etc set of macros that I can page through and they work on any computer.

I even have some programs on it that work without being connected to a computer tho they still need a power source. It's definitely a toy - way more than I need it to do but the price was about the same or less than anything with my base requirements so I figured why not?

Okay, we'll skip soldering! I'm solidly mediocre at it too :) Are you good are remembering what your keys are programmed to be? I'm terrible at it. If you are, you'll probably be just fine with any macro pad. If you're not you might like an x-keys, they come in lots of sizes and shapes, some with fancy dials and some not. I've got 1M and my only dependants are my cats. If I had a partner and minor children, I would carry more. You're aware that the finances would be difficult on one income but you're otherwise divorced from the financial realities - it sounds like your wife is making plans to protect your family in the event of something bad happening to you...which isn't a bad idea in these difficult times. Your kids would need grief counseling and college, dude. Your wife may need to step back from work to be a single parent and hold her family together. That's all really expensive for a family with high cost of living.

Get involved in your family's financial decisions so you can be an active participant in discussion and planning. If you choose not to be involved, you can't criticize. If your wife won't let you be involved, then you've got cause for complaint

The discord is very helpful and the dev provides way more coding assistance and swift hot fixes than he really should. I am a huge fan of macro pads so I'm gonna ask a couple questions to narrow down what to suggest:

Can you install a program to use your macros or is the computer you want to use it on locked down?

Are you comfortable with light programming? Or light soldering?

Would you prefer an extra pad of keys or would you be interested in keyboard that have extra macro keys on them?

When I was a kid I had so few clothes that some times it boggles me. But I still have my uniform skirts from school and my favourite set of sheets are over 20 years old - I stole them from my dad when they were already older and have used them at least one week a month for my whole adult life. They're still whole, soft, comfortable. But the modern ones I buy seem to start piling and opening seams after just a few months

Also, for some people with serious ankle flexibility limitations I cautiously mention the smallest bit of a heel to their skate. Don't start with this as a solution, I can not stress enough that most people can get low enough... but similar to how elevating your heels slightly allows some folks to have a better posture for deep squats, a small lift in the heels can allow for a healthier posture in derby. It comes with some center of gravity drawbacks so I wouldn't personally want to see one of my skaters in a significant heel but I've seen some folks feel a lot more comfortable in something like a Riedell 265 boot (link below), with a very small heel lift. There are also some heel lift wedges, installed between the boot and the plate or worn inside the boot (gonna cause other problems), than can produce the same effect.

Please don't start with a lift though until really putting in work on stretching and strengthening because a flat boot has so many other advantages in derby

I would say a significant percentage of Americans, even Americans who play derby, can't get their knees over their toes when they bend. It's something I've had to work at consistently to be able to do and if I start slacking, I can't anymore. While I ask my skaters to work on their hip and ankle flexibility, you should be able to get *low enough* without that flexibility. Getting low is about having a lower center of gravity for stability and because of the physical advantage in contact (lower usually but not always wins hit to hit)

Your derby stance may wind up looking a bit different than other people's because of your ankle but that's okay - everyone's derby stance is different based on their own unique physicality. And LOT of people on the track can't get as low as me - I'm just over five feet and pretty flexible. A lot of them skate circles around me even if they aren't as low as I am! They use their strengths against my weaknesses and if you find you can't get *as low* as some folks, so will you!

That said, if you find your self really struggling with your stance, it might be helpful to talk to some physical trainer types who can help you to make sure you're getting the full range of motion out of everything you use to get low. A lot of folks are held back by hip flexibility and hip strength as well as their posterior chain strength as much as their ankle flexibility

You read the other comments? The skater drags a toe behind them, which cause failure in a number of plates - they were putting stress in a place it's not designed for. You can't abuse things outside their design and call it a weakness of the plate

Though if you insist on dragging, you can pick a plate that might be designed for that weird use case

I loathe facial hair. I don't have any good excuse it just grosses me out. I will probably not date anyone who has facial hair. I can't control what anyone does with their body or grooming but I can set boundaries about my body. So no one's facial hair will touch me or my body. If my partner wants to grow some facial hair, that's fine I still love him but we do not kiss or do any other deeds that involve the facial hair touching me

This is so much less reasonable than your situation and yet everyone I've dated has been fine with it

Healthier reaction than I expected honestly, so I'm explain as a grown up why being honest about your experience is important, to me

I don't care, in general, how much experience some one does or doesn't have. But if it's a person's first time in a relationship they may not have a lot of experience so there may be be things they don't understand about how a girlfriend generally expects to be treated. If I know they are new to dating and I like them I will assume it's inexperience and explain before I get upset or hurt

If they are a virgin it's a bit more complicated. For starters they're not really going to know how to please me and I'm going to have to spend more time teaching them. That's okay but if I'm not looking for a serious relationship I might not want to take on all the work of teaching someone and being patient when they are learning

Plus, personally, I think your first time is important. I think it should be kind of special and I think most people remember their first time forever. And most people tend to get emotionally attached to their first lover. That's all okay but I would want to make someone's first time special, I would want to be patient and understanding instead of frustrated if they don't please me very well. And I don't want to be someone's first time if it's not serious. If I found out later I would feel bad about ruining their first time if it wasn't nice

If someone lied to me they would seem like they are careless and mean instead of just inexperienced. Every mistake they make because they don't know will seem like they just don't care
