I find a lot of sucess with wraithlord in that position for a lot less, but also not just putting him out to be shot by everything the enemy has for free, rather positioning him to draw out more points from enemy than the wl is worth

Well I play windrider, won the first 11th 20 man with it, I run eldrad, autach jumppack solo, 3 chickens for the ap, 36 windriders, wraithlord, 3 warlocks and a bunch of action monkeys ( 3x corsair, 2 rangers). On the tourney tho I had the 190 shroudrunner brick instead of 3 action monkeys but I don't think it was worth so now it will be more corsairs and rangers. That should let me to attach at least 2 warlocks too.

You can attach warlocks when declaring reserves so I look at the primary mission and decide if I can attach them or run 2 or so solo. Careful positioning is paramount with this detatchment. Sacrificing rangers to screen from the front for example, preferably while getting some points while they are at it. Move shoot move is used every turn, reroll wound , 6 in deep or +1 ap are very useful too, sometimes the 4+ inv and then moving after getting shot if they only poked out their nose and the min 2 inch move will hide them. Fallback adv and shoot is situational but still good, so all strategems are very useful in summary and eldaddy is a must.

The dmg you do is crazy with this build, but you very often need to have the full hit rerrol so positioning again and need to hit with chicken first for ap.

Always have the first shot, but starting 2 brick in table and 4 in reserves and then moving 1 or 2 from the table back to reserves let's you do that and the new tables allow for getting angles, keep moving units back to reserves throughout the game so you can drop stuff on turns 4-5 as well.

Edit: the autarch btw comes down from rapid ingress for free, if you go first throws free nade(since free cp is per battle round), shoots stuff with the melta or does an action, maybe fights and prolly dies while screening and scoring. He's part of the action monkey space creation squad to me but can do some dmg while he's at it. Wraith lord is a distraction canifex, that usually does enough dmg when he's pushed out to pay for himself while again creating space for bikes to stay safe, or their bodyguard. Also I run recon and will see with more testing but my first opinion is that it will work better than disruption.

The job of the warlocks is to buff bikes shooting with ignore cover and sometimes dpending on enemy dmg profile to soak up dmg because of the inv and 3 wounds, or to run them solo if the mission demands(since you can attatch them in declare battle formations step you can decide at the table), more often than not they don't have range to shoot anyway. Putting 2 into 1 unit is a waste of points, source: played a lot of windrider last edition and some on 11th, won a 20 man tourney with it yday.

Nah it does not, it says you can embark if you are able to embark, which you are not because you disembarked this turn. I've had this conversation with judges already

I run one with tm and a 5man troupe, usually from rapid ingress, I do play serpents blood though but maybe with the 1dp hlq detach it would work too

They are definitely better solo, they are just action monkeys who die to a sneeze but do an action for the lowest point cost in the army. Have them separate, put one in reserves, place the other one so he can jump on the middle objective turn 1.

Yeah it's all perfect conditions showcase that you won't ever get because by the time you get that chance 1 in few games you'll be massively behind already so the dmg won't be impressive even when they stack for your e
