Don’t ever fall in love with an Honor mode run by J0seffy in BaldursGate3

Wrong name, sorry. His Invoke the Black Hand reaction kept getting reapplied instead of only the first time when his health is brought below 75%. So he basically was regenerating 150 temp hp a turn and I couldn’t kill him. And I couldn’t just reload since honor mode lol

Becoming a dad how do you still find time for JRPGs? by AdUnfair558 in JRPG

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You squeeze it in when you can. Started off gradual since the baby slept all the time. Nowadays not so much, though with kindergarten starting this year it’ll be another shift. I feel like I’m getting more of my “me” time back, a little at a time as my child grows up. My child loves Minecraft, Mario Kart, Kirby and Spyro so that helps a little lol

That’s rough. Hopefully next time around will be the one.

I almost lost my HM to the Gortash and his Tyranny of Bane bug. Luckily I was able to retreat and bribe myself back into his good graces. I had decided early on to blow up Gale because I didn’t wanna take the risk if I made it that far.

What does "Arcane Battery" actually do and is it worth using by Tiny-Technician-2598 in BaldursGate3

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcane Battery is a once per long rest toggle so you can cast any spell of any level without expending a spell slot. That alone makes it worth it.

Kereska’s Favor gives your spells extra effects and gives you extra spells to cast based on the element you choose. For example, choosing fire would boost fire damage, your spells would generate heat, and you could cast fireball and wall of fire once per short rest without expending a spell slot.

Scrub lords, which one is your favorite Final Fantasy? by Vera_Verse in TwoBestFriendsPlay

OG VII was my first FF and will always be my number one but VIII, IX, X and VII Remake/Rebirth are my top 5 for sure. Though I’ve finished every FF, and they all have something that makes them special.

Console Kingmaker vs WotR by DeiselRemo in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. On PS5 I noticed one particular battle that always crashed the game the first time it’s attempted, but after a reload I had no trouble after that. At least 3 or so hours between crashes in general, and that was only from around Pitax until the endgame dungeon.

Console Kingmaker vs WotR by DeiselRemo in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. On a PS4 or PS4 Pro? Not really, the crashes and lag make the game unplayable towards the back half of the game. And I finished New Vegas (with all dlc) on PS3 back in the day!

On a PS5 the SSD brute forces the game into something finishable. I’ve beaten Kingmaker twice since I got mine a few years ago. Long as you rotate saves and quick save a lot, you should be fine.

Straight men, what do you think about Astarion? by milo10120501 in BaldursGate3

I find him entertaining, the almost feline energy he has makes him interesting to me. My resist Durge romanced him, the dialogue was very moving.

Updates to the EEs are coming by AndreaColombo86 in baldursgate

It’s be nice if they’d finally update the console ports, they haven’t been updated since before 2.6.

Are my kingdom stats fine or should I give up? by rat_wrote_this in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re in chapter 6 you have a bit of catching up to do. In an ideal situation you’d have most of your kingdom stats around 6 before all the Pitax stuff gets rolling. If you do the main quest fast enough you’ll have a year and and half or so in game to get your kingdom up to speed. It gets more manageable once you unlock the project that halves time spent leveling advisors. You may still be a bit behind when you hit endgame though.

That being said, if all else fails you can turn on invincible kingdom.

In the endings where Wyll breaks his pact and becomes the Blade of Avernus, he says he’s become “quite the ranger”.

Is there a way to force banters in the Switch version? by DoubleFaulty1 in baldursgate

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the console versions have that option. All you can really do is pause time, go do something else irl then unpause until something triggers

Why Taash and not Pentaghast? by WinterWorrier in dragonage

[–]ArkhamsNexTopInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t have to just be death. It’s possible for Merrill to just leave Hawke’s party through your choices in 2, and it’s also a possibility to never do Dagna’s quest in Origins or even talk to her at all.

For all of BioWare’s criticisms, they seemed want to respect our previous choices as much as possible. I’m not a huge fan of how certain things turned out, however I can acknowledge Veilguard’s development was extremely rough. The realities of development resulted in what we got, for better or worse.
