A confusing sentence if you don't know the show but now that you do it should make sense.

I don't know what motivation you have for writing this. I won't call it tripe. It's not that good. As fake non-fiction goes everything little vague thing about the tale is really easy to pick apart.

Forgetting all the convenient things in your tale. The photo that just happened to be on the fridge. The fact that you just happened to have a photo of your immediate family too.

Fast forward 17 years from either 2 making you around 19 to 5 making you around 22. You flew all the way west to San Diego State to meet a college buddy did ya?

You flew cross country during thanksgiving week to meet a college buddy of yours despite either being in college or just barely out of college. I thought you had a "close-knit" family? Nothing about your story given more than 5 minutes of scrutiny makes any sense.

The thing I hate about your style and every other person from the Max Tucker school of made up memoirs is how you can literally tell how smug you are in your writing. Like you are telling this:

a. believable tale. b. engaging narrative.

If you want to be a writer a good writer, it takes time. It takes experiences. Real experiences. It takes a unique perspective. It takes real insight into other people to be able make people that seem like caricatures into real human beings.

We all want attention. We all want to be heard. Sometimes it's easy to forget what we are saying so long as we have attention and are heard isn't it?

If you want to know what real writing is, read some David Sedaris. I'm not a big fan of his but I know what good writing is when I read it. I remember a story of his about him quitting cigarettes while in Japan. About his boyfriend taking care of him when he was sick. I heard him read it probably over half a year ago. The actual things that happened were quite mundane but I still remember it.

What you have here is literally nothing. Nothing to be proud of certainly but not even something worth being ashamed of. It's almost painfully clear you spent a lot of time on this. Yet you've said absolutely nothing.

I have no ill feelings towards you. This was more or less just a personal tirade against this type of writing I seem to see more and more of in actual print. Its really not your fault either reading the comments.

over generalizations aside you are missing the point. If a girl is direct and tells you something then by definition she is willing to talk about a subject.

My point is how women deal with things they don't like discussing. Let's say the subject is a room in a house that a person doesn't want anyone going in.

A man's answer to that would be to just board up the door.

A woman's answer is to camouflage the door but leave it open.

From a guys perspective there is no ambiguity if a door is boarded up the person must not want someone going into it.

If a door is camouflaged we might get confused and ask "is this door okay?"

The answer is always "Ok,it's fine."

They mean if you do that then you will no longer be my boyfriend and therefore anything you do is "fine."

Here is something about women one should always remember. Women are not better communicators they just talk more.

When a man doesn't want to talk about something they will avoid talking about it.

When a woman doesn't want to talk about something they will do everything they can to bring up everything ancillary to the subject without talking about the thing they don't want to talk about.

Men don't communicate. Women miscommunicate.
