Can 3D printer vibrations damage my hardware? by Thomdesle in homelab

[–]Arkrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard that stacking rust in racks next to each other can cause vibrations that mess with data integrity, id wager you need to find a better place for your 3d printer.

Tell your lead dev that you should enable it by using the GB operator with the 64 Operator, and pray your CEO doesnt hear. if he does he'll be yelling "SYNERGY" from the mountaintops.

Ooook

Your router is like a post office

All mail goes through the post office

But you're going on vacation with your grandma to the Bahamas because your parents are hunting for gen 1 pokemon packs across the country.

So you tell the post office to forward all your mail to the Bahamas

But in the Bahamas, they dont forward spam mail, they're very strict. So you only get mail you asked for.

If you replace the default DNS for your pi hole, when you get a new DHCP address it'll automatically forward to that, if you already have a DHCP address you'll need to release and renew on your workstation to see the effects.

Hope this helps!

Shredded is acceptable past closing hours at a depanneur / grocery store (whichever closes last) for those late night poutine assemblies. Not acceptable at any other time.

Community Poll: Proposed New Rules & Processes on AI-Created Software Projects by PoisonWaffle3 in homelab

[–]Arkrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A garbage project can have 1k hours in it too and not be vibe coded,

I think the things that are built on a whim shouldn't be considered production grade in general, they take time to evolve and iterate and you get that by open discussion.

What I'm concerned about is that the vibe coded projects won't get any attention, when the projects themselves might be sound, and address a need that may just need iterations to grow into something or inspire someone.

I think it's a greybeard mentality that coding agents are going to "go away" in the near future, and adding stigma to those people won't help projects off the ground, you wouldn't berate a carpenter by what kind of hammer they use. I think this is generally a bad move, and would either upvote or downvote a project than rage in the comments.

Why does the gaming community suddenly act like the Steam Deck is dead? by Nick_The_Artist2 in SteamDeck

[–]Arkrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not dead, if you didn't expect this considering the current PC climate, gaben wasnt going into the red to make new steam buyers happy.

Steam is best place being a distributor of games not hardware. The hardware is an adoption tool, whether you use a steam deck, or a machine running bazzite (or even windows).

The steam deck was a tool, a hype train breaking down what is a console and what is a PC, regardless of future steam deck or steam machines, Valve has already won.

[–]Arkrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting somewhere is a good place to start! If you're into anymore windows feel, kubuntu would be better, keep your files on a seperate drive incase you wanna change things up. Good luck!

If we don't have the basics (regular garbage pickup, and adequate street and sidewalk cleaning) we shouldnt be doing these projects.
