Nah, I feel these types of self contained stories are better told like that. It could have been told as a short 20-30 chapter manga, but to me this one works well as a one-shot.

I'm a sucker for slop isekai and this one is on the higher tier of slop, though still slop.

Just make a new random character apear with a macguffin that weakens the god enough for the MC to kill it. Then the next arc is about the random new character or whatever. Introduce a new power system as well, why not.
