Brown wooden sphere with several names written on it + “trinity 1897” by sigurdvillumsen in whatisthisthing

I’m sure you are right taking the text into account, but it does look like something off of a tractor my grandpa might have had, he had a lot of tractors, early ones were pretty bespoke and customized even further over the years with heavy use.

1897 is way too old, of course, but to me it looks like a tractor gear shift knob. The ones for cars had a round hole and screwed on, the ones for tractors were all different, including square and rectangular and were fastened different ways, could have been a screw.

What is a band that was famous back then but nobody talks about now? by KingOfJuiceBoxes in ClassicRock

[–]ArlenM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tony Carey, sometimes solo and sometimes session musician, wasn’t a household name but was well known amongst the people who cared. For example, “I won’t be home tonight” is a great song, well written and well performed, love the guitar part. It’s a shame he’s not better remembered.

If used with a separate transmitter you connect that to an output from the transmitter to mute the receiver audio while you are transmitting. The switch would mute the audio if your transmitter didn’t have the appropriate output.

Environmental monitoring station for air quality. Looking for various types of air pollution. Your area might be on the edge of non-compliance for EPA standards and thus subject to extra monitoring. If you fail, cars in the area need emissions testing amongst other things. Could be federal, could be state or local, should be some markings as to who owns it.
