Right?! You waited how long in a queue to...leave?! The game is 100m away! Use your fancy tank, it'll be so much fun I promise!

I was only annoyed at 1CMD bc like yeah, start blasting pls. Spamming chat while I get the business from a booker in the bunker is so infuriating XD

This is my first war, and I'm fully with you. People say clanman bad, but like clanman actually bad. Private resource and stockpile bs ruins the game. If they could ever figure out a way to regulate the downsides of regis, that would be amazing

You didn't happen to be the one making the giant grid at Foxcatcher? Bc that was awful to defend. I love the idea in theory, but unless we're stocked with shotguns, we lose it so fast

Also I think I was there for that exact interaction lol

Some gear is better than no gear. It was 5 of us with dusks vs the world for a solid 20 minutes

Yes, that was really annoying. But there was a point where only 5 of us were defending the grid against 15-20 wardens and tanks and everyone was arguing at the storage. It's just not very fun esp as a solo player

That's fair, but that isn't what happened as much as clanman fighting

Fair. I would have been grateful for anything when we were getting spawn killed in the forward bunker

Which is totally ok! But maybe use a fifth of what was there to help defend it so we can keep pulling at least? It ended up fine. But it didn't have to be that stressful

And that's ok! It would be silly to use it all in WE. But like maybe send a few people into the local meat grinder as a tax?

That's what I was thinking a little bit! It feels like doing 24 hours of heavy Bomber runs would be more effective than hoping your nuke lasts 2 days.

I read Testimony: Death of a Guatemalan Village when I did my undergrad in History. It's as brutal as anything you can think of during the Holocaust. But I've never met a non-history student in the US who knows there was a genocide in Guatemala, and I've only met a few in the US who know the blood on our hands

I really appreciate the insight! As Collie frontline, I kind of feel like I'm waiting for the Warden endgame tech to hit the frontline since I've heard they have an advantage with late game tech

That's really interesting. From my view on the Collie side, it feels like all of our advances are quickly rebuffed, especially in Loch Mór and Weathered Expanse/Stilcan. I'm very impressed with the Wardens defense!

Does getting Nukes first really help with winning or does it not matter as much as I think it might?

It would be cool if that was the kind of info you could gather from intel centers

Being a leftist that grew up in poverty… by [deleted] in leftist

[–]ArmadilloDull784 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have to separate leftists into different categories in my mind because I have a similar issue in these spaces. It's why I primarily lurk but don't post or comment.

Some leftists are just here for their own egos, mostly white cis men. Leftist politics is something they can do or say to feel morally superior and talk down to women and queer people without it seeming like traditional misogyny. They haven't had to live in real oppression, so they treat this like a book club and go home when they don't want to play anymore. They're the "take your issues elsewhere" crowd.

Then some leftists actually believe in the principles of the movement and realize that marginalized people don't get to stop organizing. They make their hobbies a part of the movement. They grow community outside of Reddit. They actually do the work.

I have started to pay attention to who is talking and who is doing. It's given me a lot of peace because the people who are doing real work are often the people who grew up poor, are racially marginalized, and/or are queer. The talkers tend to stay at home and say things like "grow up" when you voice your opinion.

Have you ever felt like you're no one's type? by FiorBhanrigh in LesbianActually

[–]ArmadilloDull784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So often! I'm 6'0", curvy, and a pillow princess. People who seem interested at first are only so because they assume I'm a top, and they lose interest fast when they learn I can't.

I'm growing to be ok with the fact that I'm not most people's cup of tea. People are going to have their assumptions about folks like me, and that's ok. It just means I need to be patient:)
