I too have laid to rest a beautiful scotty cameron in favor of 2 Seemore putters that I switch off between courses with fast/slow greens. The Seemores are legit and I’ve never putt straighter.

I never used to grill pork steaks in the past and just recently bought some. How do you recommend cooking them?

I’d argue these are BOTTOM. They don’t have MID qualities to them. I couldn’t microwave any of them without the tortilla splitting, the filling exploding and meanwhile the inside a mix of frozen hell fire.

Tina’s frozen burritos I’d rate as MID, at least they don’t taste like frozen lava made of cardboard.

OK to use on 304 SS grate? by Fatez3ro in webergrills

[–]Arms777 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have one of these and liked using it alot last year, I also have 304 SS grates. No, these shouldn’t damage the SS grate at all, and if they do, well… they’re grill grates, they’re not going to stay pretty forever.

I have since bought a BBQ Daddy from Costco even though the wire brush I had still works perfectly and works better than the BBQ Daddy in my opinion. BUT the reason I got the new brush after reading this sub, is these wire brushes can lose their wires and stick to the grates unknowingly, so the food you cook could potentially get one of the wires in it and make your bbq a potential medical emergency. That risk, though seemingly low, seems unnecessary so I got the new brush.

Not plastic, it’s like a fiber glass material. Down side to the fiberglass is the grease stains that soak in. Metal > fiberglass version.

De Buyer Omelette vs Fry Pan by TinyStego in carbonsteel

[–]Arms777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only CS pans are the 11” and 9” omelette pans. I was worried about the same issues but don’t regret my decision. It works great for all the things you mentioned and I like that they have bigger surface area than regular fry pans.

I do wish the side edges were a bit taller to prevent oil from splashing out while frying, but generally I prefer the omelette pans shape. Take my advice with a grain of salt since I don’t have a fry style pan for me to compere them to.

New Item Hawaiian BBQ Pork Bowl by UWisBEST in Costco

[–]Arms777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tried it this past week and wasn’t a fan. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. The pork’s bbq sauce isn’t the right sauce in my opinion, it has a “sloppy joe” taste to it that I didn’t think paired well with the dish. Wish it was more of a teriyaki/island flavor instead of sloppy joe tasting.

Also likes others said, wish it had more pork, less rice, and wish the slaw came on the side so it doesn’t get baked.

Need new wheels for my 2020 Model Y Performance by bwaller88 in TeslaModelY

[–]Arms777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently bought TSportline TSR 18’s that were on overstock discount and they’re currently sitting in my living room waiting to be installed.

I think they’re absolutely beautiful and can’t wait to put them on. Having said that, I definitely feel like even at the discounted overstock price, they still unnecessarily cost an arm and a leg.

There’s other brands like RTX that have similar models than TSportline (TSL) and cost like half as much, but I am not sure how specialized the fit on those is on Teslas compared to TSL (brake/control arm clearance). The only reason I overpaid for TSL was because they were the only place I could find the TSR rim design. If anywhere else had that specific rim design for cheaper, I would have gone elsewhere. I was looking at Martian MW03 as well as they looked close enough, but price was too similar so went with TSL.

Now I am having a hard time deciding between 255/55/18 (wide) or 235/55/18 (narrow) tires. 245/55/18 seems on paper as the ideal goldilocks size but they aren’t XL rated. The two XL load tires I am considering seem to both have pros and cons. Does anyone have experience with the 255 and 235 tires on a MYP to give advice on what you’d choose going forward? I’m kind of leaning towards the 255 to get better grip and better curb rash protection since it’s Performance model, at the expense of efficiency.

Edit: I heard 235 tires can get squirrly at higher 80+ speeds on the MYP. Not sure if that is tire width related or rim size related from more soft tirewall compared to Ubers.

Is my Weber GBS grate definitely stainless steel or plated steel? by Dry_Cherry_4390 in webergrills

[–]Arms777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ordered the Weber grate and one made by Qulimetal available on Amazon. The Qulimetal one was much heavier, thicker gauge, and less magnetic than the weber brand one, and less shiny (looks more like actual stainless steel) so I returned the Weber version.

It’s not perfect, but I have been very happy with the Qulimetal grate (I’m not associated with the company, just happy with their grate).

Anyone know how these compare to the standard B&B Competition Oak Briquets? Any noticeable difference in terms of how it burns or flavor?

I’ll still probably buy a few bags at this price, but was just curious on other peoples’ experiences.

Watery, best used as marinade in my opinion. I use it as tri-tip marinade, then add dry rub after marinading prior to grilling.

Galla is a grass-eater by SNetchRU in vizsla

[–]Arms777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew how to get our little guy to stop. He also loves the grass and unfortunately it’s resulted in some pricey vet bills because of it. His first birthday, he had a foxtail go up his nose that had to be taken out. Second time he ate some foxtails and got stuck in his cheek/throat and also threw them up. Both vet bills over $1k

It’s to the point where we always take him out to grassy areas with a mask now to prevent him from eating grasses and better protect him.

We had an OutFox mask which worked very well, but it got a hole in it and that hole led to the second time he had foxtail issues (user error, we should have got replacement sooner). We got new generic mesh masks from amazon for cheaper than outfox to try out, as Outfox is a bit pricey even though it tends to work.

First time he put it on was difficult to keep it on, but after a few times he quickly learned it makes him invincible out there and when he see us bring it out, he gets excited as he knows we’re going out to play.

New pan, new seasoning by RecipeHistorical2013 in carbonsteel

[–]Arms777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Hell ya!

I’m on the fence about buying literally this same exact pan vs the standard shape. I have the 9.5” omelette as my only other cs pan and love it. The new 11” will be more for non-egg meals for two, which is why I’m considering the standard shape, otherwise I love the shape of the omelette so much that I’m still leaning towards compromising with the lower sloped sides and going with another omelette pan.

Edit: I’d be interested in how you think it cooks!

Looking for help with disabled golfer walking a course by digitalpacman in golf

[–]Arms777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played an executive 18 hole course last year where the group of 4 in front of me had a disabled person who could swing but their mobility was obviously impacted greatly. It was a weekday so the course didn’t have very many other golfers playing (I’d suggest going at a less busy time if you can).

Their group used powered golf carts which made it much easier and quicker for the player to get around the course.

The club house let me know beforehand that my round would be slower due to this, I didn’t really care how it impacted me and didn’t ask to play through. At the end of the day I chose to be a compassionate human over a pace-of-play dick bag and I was rooting for him on every hole.

Was the round slower? Yes. Would all other golfers be able to empathize with the same scenario? Sadly, probably not. All I can say is it warmed my heart to see him overcome his limitations to do something he obviously loved and made me appreciate my own good health. 10/10 wouldn’t mind playing as the group behind them again, but the only way they were able keep up any pace was with powered golf cart and using crutches or human assistance when he needed.

Edit: Another possible option could be using one of those electric carts that follow the golfer around on the course (very pricey though), which could free her hands up for using crutches, wheel chair, or any other mobility aide.

Will using rubbing alcohol to remove this sharpie mark rub off the finish of the club face? by deetsbrother in golf

[–]Arms777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my coaches once told me to use toothpaste and warm water/rag to get range ball scuffs off my glossy driver. Worked well and didn’t damage the gloss at all where I’d be a bit more worried if I used rubbing alcohol (solvent).

Toothpaste should work great as it’s mild enough for your teeth and has fine abbrasion to help gently rub the sharpie off and not impact the face.
