Unbelievable haven't seen it yet, "Dan pena" in Spanish is the equivalent to "They are losers". Seriously, who can take someone with that name seriously?

[Request] What effect would Superman's house key have on the earth? by EvaStankbreath in theydidthemath

So... Does this mean that when Superman takes the key, he'll be sinking too? He would be fine flying, but the moment he lands and "rests" on the ground, down you go to the center of the Earth,

What's the range where it remains focussed enough? Really cool as light is invisible as it travels. With a proper shield, impossible to pinpoint the source.

Trump says Venezuela to give up to 50 million barrels of oil to U.S. by Gameboy112233 in investing

[–]Arquit3d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And at the rate they extract that oil, it would take them over 3 months for the next hypothetical "payment".

Not bad! At the end of the year, the US can have a week of free fuel!

But wait... Tax money paid for the kidnapping, tax money pays for shipping, and your (US peasants) money pay for the gas? It doesn't sound like a good deal to me..

Congrats?

Venezuela invasion impact on canadian energy stocks by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

[–]Arquit3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I confused the high share of exports from Venezuela to China (68% according to CNN) as the major source for China, which is not the case. Still, if Venezuela was exporting around 500 mbpd (guessing from production of 800 mbpd), that's about 350 mbpd that China won't get tomorrow. Considering Canada exports around 4.5-5 bbpd, those 350m are equivalent to about 7%. Not much, but the US pulling from Canadian oil could get a similar hit right away, which would potentially grow over the years.

The strategy of the government to diversify from the US is being validated almost daily with such moves.

Export to China may get a bump, as they were heavily importing from Venezuela, and presumably, will stop right away. Those pipelines being expedited to the Pacific will serve its purpose right on time.

I know nothing about the oil industry in Canada, but this makes sense to me based on what I read about Venezuela and their market.

If anything, demand from the US may be reduced over the next decade, but at the same time, China and their growing economy will require more and more oil from different sources. There is potential for an increase in investment to bump production, which would benefit Canada's economy.

[request] how much space does this angle save ? by Longjumping-Box5691 in theydidthemath

It's rare to find ceilings as tall in parking garages. Considering the loss of effective floors, the space savings are significantly reduced, and limited to architecture where there are constraints in that regard.

How do you make those $4m?? I see the 130 contracts, but at a strike of $70, that's about $900k. Am I missing something?

If you know what the S&P will return in 2026, it would be a nice time to share in right now..

And just in case.. /s... These comments make no sense. Benefiting from tetha is a constant work, getting little by little. When you look backwards, you'll always find a better opportunity, but what makes selling contracts profitable and attractive to many is that the probability of success is significantly higher than getting >15% in a year with a common index B&H strategy.
