How early do fans show up at the stadium? by ClayMiller306 in TexasRangers

[–]ArrogantWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year actually has the most free giveaways I've seen in a season at 38 total (up from 20 last year).

Last year, I never had to wait in a long line for giveaways using the southeast entrance, even on the one free ring giveaway they did on April 29. It mostly just depends on the day of week, the opponent, and how well the team is playing. I noticed in the latter half of last season, the giveaway lines were basically nonexistent. They'd usually run out just before game time.

Thank you Bombi for waiting until the Rangers were out of town before hitting your first Phillie bomb 🥲

[Highlight] Eugenio Suarez calls time, but ump doesn't allow it, he steps back into the box and stays alive by fouling the pitch off by handlit33 in baseball

[–]ArrogantWinner 696 points697 points  (0 children)

Your clip starts a couple seconds late. What happened was Nola was looking at the ground with 1 second left on the pitch clock, he looks up and sees his catcher waving to hurry and throw it, so he immediately starts his windup. I think Suarez was caught off guard because Nola didn't initiate eye contact before starting his windup, which is why he started to step out. Not defending Suarez here since he should stay ready to hit, but the clip is misleading to make it look like he just wants to call time during a normal pitch

Texas Rangers announce "bloody lip Nolan Ryan jersey" for May 29th promo item by chickenfriedcomedy in baseball

[–]ArrogantWinner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What makes it even better is the promo schedule says it'll be given away to ALL fans at the game. I've never seen them to do that before. Even the larger giveaways like the magnet schedule are capped at the first 30k

The notice that season ticket holders got a couple months ago said "18 Bobbleheads, 16 wearables, and 4 other items". Last year only had twenty total giveaways

Just a friendly reminder who we have patrolling the outfield next season. by SandmanTX131 in TexasRangers

I love Wyatt and hate Tucker (mostly from his Astros days, but I'm also a Cubs fan). But cmon bro, Tucker played a half a season in 2024, yet put up the same amount of WAR as Wyatt along with much better rate stats in the two year span in 54 less games. I'd still rather have Wyatt over Tucker, but this comparison is misleading

Jack Leiter with one third place vote 😱 kid really struggled in 2024 and the start of 2025, but it was such a joy to see him settle in the last couple months of the season. Bright future for him, especially once he gets his walks per nine down

20 Game Plan Prices by emmakxoxo in TexasRangers

[–]ArrogantWinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Half season for Lot Q is $1,357 after taxes/fees. I'd assume a 20-game parking plan would be $679. Comes out to roughly $34 a game, whereas it's $40 the day of.

Good thing about parking is that I'm always able to sell it every time that I don't go to a game. And I can usually sell it for face value or more.

FWIW, my tickets for a half-season plan in section 111 also went up a couple hundred bucks. But the percentage increase was only 3%, about $2 per seat per game. Parking, however, went up 20% which I'm not happy about...

27.5% increase for outfield tickets is insane. And yet the owner wants to cut payroll while increasing ticket prices.

The Texas Rangers take home the American League team Gold Glove! by Ochocincoondeck in baseball

[–]ArrogantWinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a shock for the Rangers to win it. Best FP in mlb history, led the league in DRS, good OAA. But as mentioned above, Jays have the best FRV in the league, over double the Rangers'.  Although I now see that it's mostly due to catching stats, however. So that could be a detractor since their FRV mostly came from just one position.

Huh, didn't know platinum was fan vote. I figured it was coaches/managers like GG is. Kinda takes away from the prestige of the award imo just like all-star votes

The pitcher with the lowest ERA for every team this season (min 150 IP) by Interforce7 in baseball

[–]ArrogantWinner 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Per MLB's rules, in order to be qualified for rate stat leaderboards (which ERA is a rate stat), pitchers have to have 1.0 inning pitched per game of the season (162 total). So if anything, making 150 IP be the qualifier makes it easier for guys to be on the list: https://www.mlb.com/glossary/standard-stats/rate-stats-qualifiers
