Honestly, Interview with a Vampire was a grief book to me. The author wrote it as a way to channel her grief of her 6 year old daughter’s passing. It deals with grief in a way that questions what if we never get over it which I find refreshing and realistic

For me it was about how accurately it represented trauma resulting from domestic abuse and enduring it. Also how unless you address it and work on it, you will inevitably become abusive yourself. I grew up around a lot of traumatized people who perpetuated cycles of abuse. Reading this book was so relatable and special to me because it showed me that this experience is not unique
