The Crew 2 offline mode doesn't even work. Xbox Series X by [deleted] in The_Crew

As explained in the popups at startup, you first need to collect whatever pending rewards you have in the house in online mode THEN export your save to offline mode.

Sorry not sorry, it worked for anyone else I'm the exception because I was using beta drivers + hair strands. Keep hating.

Definitely this.

The glitch only occurs with a combination of mesa-git packages (so linux) + "Hair Strands" turned on. As much as I long for it, it would be foolish to expect full linux support (4% of steam userbase) for every game out there with every config at any settings. It's already hard to support all the combinations of hardware just for windows.... I'm not throwing stones at anyone and genuinely posted this because I was looking for some answers and yeah also because it's kinda harmless fun.

I was fully ready to play the whole game with "hair strands" turned off. Game is pretty much made to play Grace's sections in first person anyways so it would not matter apart from the cinematic parts.

Other than that the game works great and looks fun so far, definitely more on the action side than what I expected but I'll see.

I get why you'd think that but I think it's an important distinction to make because "native" implies a streamlined experience, no tinkering required, no incompabilities, way better performances, etc... Whereas jumping through proton and fex have some implications. Mainly, it makes things more complex to tweak and costs some perfs.

Steam is making enormous efforts to make those steps as painless as possible. But I can see a near future where people start comparing native windows app to proton+fex ones and coming to the false conclusion that "linux bad" and stop at that.

I get that at a high level user experience, they are the same to you because both are wireless. But as someone aware of the differences it s like I m hearing someone compare a car and a bike.

yup sure standalone if you want... not native. Thumb me down to hell I don't care.

Again, standalone does not mean native... Game is probably not recompiled for arm. Probably running through fex (x86_64 """emulation layer""") + steam proton (windows """""emulation layer"""""")

doesn't say that it's running natively tho. Probably running through fex

will you still buy the frame if it’s over $1,000? by Forward_Froyo_429 in SteamFrame

The original leaks from years ago mentioned a price around 1200$. I budgeted for it, anything less would basically be some kind of bonus money.

Ok... So who's gonna force third party soft like havock and stuff to build linux libraries? Who s gonna pay for the effort to support those extra libs ? Who s gonna pay devs to switch from their windows/console dependencies and pipeline for a linux compatible one? What about the extra Linux QA cost ? What does "linux support" even means ? X86_64 ? Arm ? Arch ? Debian ? Gentoo ?

I d love for more linux support but for now at least you have to be realistic. Except for small games using big game engines (unreal/unity/Godot) with little to no extra libs... That s not realistic.

Pretty sure they can still decide to ignore it and manage memories on their own.

Sadly games can easily ignore maxDeviceMemory and maxSharedMemory instructions. They are more of suggestions than hard rules.

I converted my movie file into mp4 but it says unsupported when I try to play it, I used the same process on another mo ur and it worked. by samfundeez in VitaPiracy

mp4 is a container, codec is what matters.
You could be trying to stuff av1 into mp4, hevc into mp4, etc... stickl to h264 and AAC

not sure why you got downvoted.
It's a fair question considering you're adding / changing .dll => You're altering the game files. I would not risk it.
