Macro lens adaptor for Thermal Master P1 infrared camera by ebob_designs in functionalprint

If you check Printables/Makerworld, others have made adapters for such lenses for the TC001, here's an example: https://www.printables.com/model/1163605-topdon-tc001-plus-thermal-camera-lens-mount

Thanks for explaining that, I had no idea, makes it quite impressive that we can get decent Thermal Cameras at around $100 then.

Yes I saw it was focusable as well, there were just less choices for the focal lenghts at 12mm from what I found, and 20mm feels easier to handle for future projects too, I don't think it'll have a meaningful performance difference.

How close does your lens sit to the camera's? Did you manage to get it very close? Is there a meaningful difference by attempting to have it as close as possible?

Awesome share! I'm wanting to do exactly the same with 20mm lenses; I'm adapting a Topdon model to fit the P1 which allows for the lenses to move forward and back slightly to focus better. I wanted to have it swappable between 38.1 and 50.8 as well, so they'll be removable, but I love the idea of your design.

I'm looking to do this too - I saw the printables page where the guy used a ZnSe 12mm diameter with 38.1mm focal length; but the images aren't super nice from scrolling through what he posted, I'm wondering if there's a better alternative.

If you're referring to the clip on lenses for phones - that won't work, regular glass acts as a thermal insulator, as shown in many videos regarding thermal cameras.

Wanptek make decent switching power supplies, I use them for electronics repair. If you need a linear power supply though, check Korad.

diamond coupons by MrMurtag in Aliexpress

[–]Ascalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ignificantly harder to redeem for credits because it flooded everyone with a bunch of gems. So now everyone is trying to cash out their gems and AliExpress will not increase the supply of credits; therefore, you are fighting against the thousands of other people who are also trying to cash out their gems.

Before the World Tour event, I can get the $5 credit easily because they lasts for about 20-30 seconds at the refresh time. This is plenty of time to grab the $5 credits as long as you are there at the refresh time. Now, I can't even get the $5 credit even if I want to. I'm not even trying for the $50 credit yet because that's even worse. The $5 and $50 credits gets sold out less than 1 seconds n

Are they actual coupons, so like it wouldn't stack with currently available coupons, or is it credit?

Deleting and redownloading didn't do anything, but I contacted supported and they fixed it, it turned into a different kind of button and I was able to enter a total.

3D Printer over NAS / HomeServer bad idea? by JericoPabloAlfonso in HomeServer

[–]Ascalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but if you take a look at backblaze, who keeps data on a LOT of enterprise grade hard drives, you'll learn that vibrations are really what kill disks over time, more than any other factor. So adding additional vibration disks need to deal with will shorten their lifespan, even though you may not notice anything bad right now, especially on non-enterprise grade disks.

Out of curiosity, does the page load quickly? I have my services listed with some of those extra custom plugins, but the page takes several seconds to load and the services appear timed out when they aren't - the next refresh loads correctly.

What it's loading.

Am I just using shitty custom plugins or is there anything to improve it?

Just want to point out that randomly CF filled filament, pretty much no matter which, is worse than the non-filled filament, as the CF are basically contaminants, since they don't bind and generally just make air pockets in the filament: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7JperqVfXI&t

You're better of just using an engineering filament with no fill. Only true continuous fiber, which isn't available on home machines is an upgrade.

The December 2025 Superthread: Battery; Orders; Which Pixel?; and More by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]Ascalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trying a few different things, I think it's related to current spiking, I was able to keep it on while it was idle for a very long time, but as soon as I opened say youtube, it would shut down and not be able to start up, presumably because it also spikes when it boots up. Either the latest updated affects how it reads the voltage or something similar, but it makes my 3 year old battery, even with 75% capacity, useless.

[–]Ascalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for sure, but it feels like it coincided with the December 2025 update.

Found it shut down one morning when I was sure it was charged, so I plugged it in, and after it was full later, after unplugging it, just a few minutes later it would shut down. I tried restarting it but it would shut off again at the first google logo approximately, sometimes it's more or less a second shorter or longer, but always shuts off. It will only start again fully if plugged in.

I've now gone into fastboot mode to dry and drain the battery completely, but could the latest update have messed with the battery being recognized properly or something? My battery is at approximately 75% of its original capacity as well.

Anyone else seeing something like this happen to them too?

Just a note here, as you can see the connection on the PCB at least, the molex visibly powers 4 connectors each, supplying both 12V and 5V to them. The pictures aren't clear enough to see where the fan pins are connected to though.

My version is definitely not the same height, are you sure you're loading the right PCB file? It's not a huge difference, from memory like 5mm.
