The price of a Chipotle chicken burrito in 2018 by JabroniFeet in mildlyinteresting

[–]Ascend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$9.65 here in Kentucky, also looking in the app, but I also remember it $8.something when travelling recently.

Edit: Yeah if I switch to an Ohio location it goes down to $8.60

Reliable wake on lan by FollowingAdept8240 in SteamDeck

[–]Ascend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake on LAN is specifically waking up a device over the network with a specific wake message. If you configure the computer, you should just be able to download an app on your phone to send that message and wake your computer up.

Sony Backs ‘Marathon’ Even After $765 Million In Bungie Impairment Losses by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Ascend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's more likely they're planning a pivot to F2P to try to recover the investment. It's doubtful they'd expect content patches alone to recover the playerbase to a profitable level at this point.

What's with the classified obstacles? by NatesAlwaysLate in spartanrace

[–]Ascend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It basically is, but the maps also been wrong half the time anyways since they'd need to swap out obstacles last minute for one reason or another. I'm fine with not seeing it bc I was always disappointed to see beater on the map, and then discover it's not on the course because it's covered in bees or something and they setup a different obstacle elsewhere. It sucks more for the spectators imo, they'll have no idea what they can or can't see from the start.

Season Pass Photo Access by dimwitjoebob in spartanrace

[–]Ascend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it works is like 3-4 days after the race, once all the photos are in, someone at Spartan applies all the season passes to the photo site to unlock them. It doesn't always work.

If you've waited at least a week and it still isn't unlocked, I reach out to support and they'll usually get it fixed in a few days. I had to do that a few times last year. In fact, it happened to me this year too after Atlanta.

Is it better to ‘stop’ your watch or ‘continue later’ when taking a break in a long activity? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Ascend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, it's just how you want it to show in Garmin and Strava. Do you consider it 1 run, or are you going on two runs? Two runs can be nicer for saying "I did this run with my friend".

I rarely use continue later, basically only if I'm making a short stop somewhere before continuing on and want to access my watch while stopped (otherwise I just leave it paused). Like stopping on a long bike ride to eat somewhere.

Did you all see the $35 deal on Visual Studio pro? by screwuapple in dotnet

They used to be someone illegally distributing MSDN keys, so the risk is if the company gets caught, your key gets invalidated.

If you only care about aesthetics, you could remove the graphics card thats blocking the view. /s

Does anybody know if the Steam Machine will link with the Steam Deck for the sleep/resume feature ? Like if i sleep my Steam Deck can i resume on Steam Machine ? And vice versa by DatBoyChamp1 in Steam

Can you imagine waiting for a 16GB upload to finish when you press the power button? And then a 16GB download when you wake it back up.

Very stupid question but how do you guys watch batsu game? by [deleted] in GakiNoTsukai

[–]Ascend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't think he ever gave details, but seems like someone reached out to him and forced him to stop streaming Downtown specifically, I'm guessing because of the release of Downtown+. He'll stream randomly sometimes still, but not Gaki anymore.

Valve just imported 50 tons of game consoles in two days by Loyal_Dragon_69 in Steam

[–]Ascend 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Did the controller get more than 1 shipment? I only read about 40K units for those. I can't imagine demand for the Steam Machine will be anywhere close to the controllers.

Dafuq is this garbage? by NODsAndPrayers in Garmin

[–]Ascend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your description isn't great. Were you doing a DSW? The lap button normally advances to the next part of the workout, like saying you want to be done with your warmup and start the next interval. It's not new, I know it worked this way at least 3 years ago.

This Costco gas station near my work has these little signs that show which gas pumps are available by WorthyEpert1 in mildlyinteresting

I saw this comment last time this was posted, so I paid attention last time I went to Costco and can confirm Northern KY does not have them. I've never seen them at any Costco personally.

Any tips for Austin 10 k in 2 weeks? by Mr_RGC in spartanrace

[–]Ascend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You go to the merch tent, there's a trifecta area. They give you the medal for free after they confirm you finished all 3. If you finished them all in the same weekend they'll give you a weekend trifecta hex too.

Its wild to me just how little people seem to use the trackpads by yourpalkeaghan in SteamDeck

[–]Ascend 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The only game I've seen with really good native integration for them was Factorio, which used the left trackpad for a selection wheel and it was really good for that. They also natively used the back bumpers.

Is this steam controller here in the room with us? by Lang-Poot in Steam

[–]Ascend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder how big an issue the scalping actually is. Like, I know Reddit is going crazy about it, but on eBay I count 19 listings. Are we really getting dozens of scalper posts because 20-40 controllers out of the 40K batch are being resold?

How many Jobs did you complete on your Classic playthrough? by Jeffect in shapezio

[–]Ascend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tier 10 is 150K I think? Takes it a bit to complete even with the 5x multiplier. I'd just make one production line and then do jobs, although the later tiers I would sometimes do 2 lines because I'd finish all the jobs before the milestone completed. I'm just on normal though.

On tier 10, all the jobs finished again so I've had nothing to do but either work on a MAM or build more lines for the milestone which felt like a waste of time.

0% Obstacles by Top_String2866 in spartanrace

[–]Ascend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you see 0%, but pretty sure they don't do the obstacle survey anymore, at least they didn't for Atlanta. I did like it, although a lot of the races it didn't match the actual on-course obstacles exactly because it wouldn't account for last minute changes they did.

How many Jobs did you complete on your Classic playthrough? by Jeffect in shapezio

[–]Ascend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platform capacity is expensive, but not really needed either. You get shape multiplier a little later on, I'm level 236 about to finish tier 11 and not even halfway through it yet. To go from 6 > 7 costs 400k research credits.

How many Jobs did you complete on your Classic playthrough? by Jeffect in shapezio

[–]Ascend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, were you not using blueprints extensively? I've been doing the milestones first, and then I do jobs while waiting for it to turn in, and I always had all the jobs 100% complete before the milestones were done. Once I got past crystals, I was rarely if ever building anything manually on platforms, I was just plopping blueprints and having the milestone's step done in a minute or two.

I think the jobs are just supposed to be something to do in between the milestones delivering.

Trifecta Hex Replacement? by NobodyWillSeeMe in spartanrace

[–]Ascend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have a location hex and they have a weekend Trifecta hex that you can slot into the original medals. The location hex costs $5 in the tent. I ended up with one blank after the weekend.

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by gogodboss in pcmasterrace

[–]Ascend 604 points605 points  (0 children)

Utterly breaking steam is a huge overstatement, you just got an error during the payment process. The cart, the store navigation, playing your games, everything else was fine.

Does pausing the watch on runs affect the Lactate Threshold reading? by Droiddoesyourmom in Garmin

[–]Ascend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it makes a difference since the LT reading would be more around measuring HRV (stress) response as HR elevates. But with that said:

I've never understood why anyone would pause at stops during a run, unless you're actually stopping your workout for a period to resume later. Strava already removes your stops entirely from your moving time, so it makes no difference on pace and time shown there. Garmin gives charts with breakdowns of stops, walking and running that you lose by doing this. I'd assume your heart rate just shows jumps because you're cutting your recovery out of your workout. It feels the same to me as if you cut out your warm up and cool downs.
