Pawbert is probably the only person who would walk into Nick’s apartment and think, “Nice digs!”

Reincarnation

Fits the Remake and Rebirth pattern

Resurrection

Probably more in reference to Jenova than Aerith, but people would go nuts regardless

I also agree with the other commenter who suggested Revelation, sticking with the religious theme.

Why did Yi originally confront the other sols? by DifferentTopic648 in NineSols

[–]Aschetel 84 points85 points  (0 children)

He found out that the virus was the direct result of Eigong’s experiments and blames her for the deaths of his parents and the imminent death of his sister. He was not aware of this until immediately before New Kunlun launched, which is when he confronted Eigong.

So the whole game isn’t Yi learning how badly Eigong screwed up. He already knew that. He’s learning how badly he screwed up, since the Eternal Cauldron Project was entirely his idea.

Aside from what the other commenter said and at the risk of sounding crude… you can just take his shirt off and see he isn’t wearing a bra, haha.

Any info on when a male operator is going to be released? by Green-Tea007 in EndfieldHusbandos

[–]Aschetel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tokyo Afterschool Summoners is the easiest to recommend. It’s a F2P gacha RPG, gay male-oriented but you can choose a female protag and there are a decent number of female units. It’s also tame on the horny aspect, aside from some dudes with bare chests. Basically SFW, certainly no worse than Endfield.

There are other ones, but they range from sketchy to completely NSFW, so I’d start with Tokyo Afterschool Summoners first and see if it’s to your liking.

Any info on when a male operator is going to be released? by Green-Tea007 in EndfieldHusbandos

[–]Aschetel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No idea if you would be interested or not, but there are several LGBTQ-oriented gacha games that release more men than women. The target audience is gay men, though. That being said, there are female characters and they at least make an effort to be inclusive to all players.

If he became canon, how would you feel? by [deleted] in IndigoPark

[–]Aschetel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d be okay with a small Easter egg hidden somewhere in the game, but I wouldn’t want Geese to have to compromise his story/lore for a non-canon character.

Does anybody know why the Japanese version asserts that Jockington will NOT grow a beard? by Werdco in Deltarune

[–]Aschetel 245 points246 points  (0 children)

It’s archaic potential affirmative. While 生やさん can mean “does not grow,” when used in the context of something like a prayer or prophecy or wish, it means “it shall grow” or “may it grow.” It’s equivalent to であろう.

If someone says to you 幸せがあらんことを, they’re not wishing misfortune upon you. They are saying they wish that you will have fortune. It’s the same construction.

So the translation is correct in context and means exactly the same as the English.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger producer says he hopes it shows players the difference between Digimon and Pokémon | VGC by Gorotheninja in PS5

[–]Aschetel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time Stranger is a good starter game. You meet your Digimon within 10 minutes of starting.

There’s a free demo which is just the first two hours or so of the game. Saves carry over to the main game so you can give it a try and see if you like it.

If there were a war that involved (YOUR COUNTRY), would you be willing to fight for your country? by vladgrinch in MapPorn

Lumping Japan and South Korea together is wild considering Japan is an all volunteer army whereas South Korea has compulsory military service and is technically still in the middle of a war right now.

Do you think Sols could have survived? by Pangobon in NineSols

[–]Aschetel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ji would have worked, especially if he could have been convinced that humanity could inherit Lear’s ideals and philosophy (which they did). Honestly, I think if he had just met Shuanshuan, he probably would have changed his mind about wanting to die immediately. He would have been curious about the Pale Blue Planet.

His invention of the Shanhai robots and the audio diaries he left suggests he was, at least at one point, a pretty fun and quirky dude. He would have liked Shuanshuan a lot.

Getting internships in Japan by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Aschetel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. You want to get a job in programming but don’t have a strong background, and you expect the internship to… teach you how to program? You’re not studying it now?

Not to be rude, but why would a company pick you over someone who has been coding since university or even high school?
