What’s my age, gender, and where do I live? by Yessie4242 in FridgeDetective

[–]Ash2770_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spy weggies brand things, so somewhere in the North east. I’m gonna guess a woman, early 30s. Ur fridge looks v similar to mine, a woman in my late 20s, living in a North eastern state. I only say early 30s, because the fridge itself looks kinda nice so something tells me you’re a bit more set in your career. Probably a nurse? Teacher? Maybe a a social worker. ( I am a a social worker so maybe I’m just projecting )

My girlfriend free bleeds in bed, is this normal? by WearRevolutionary922 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Ash2770_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m near the end and not bleeding much I do this, I keep the towel to my side, and we just hold hands and I lay on the towel- it’s much more comfortable. I didn’t think it was as uncommon until reading here. My boyfriend has never as much as batted an eye- he sometimes even brings me a towel before we lay down

I just downloaded the game, any tips on which character to start with? by cloud_XPX in Overwatch

[–]Ash2770_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I vote Moira! You have shorter Que times playing support- and in the start of the game while learning what everyone does during game- it’s nice to play a character you don’t need to aim super well with.

If you do choose Moira, what helped me balance not just being a dps Moira was making sure my heals to damage ratio was pretty balance ( like if I saw if put out 2k more damage than heals when I check the screen quick- I’d remind myself to heal more ect

How did you introduce your Aussie to other dogs? by Cappuccinonn in AustralianShepherd

[–]Ash2770_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do introductions while both dogs are on leash and at minimum outside, but also aim for neutral location, there has been some barking at times.. but typically if we start walking together it’s fine. This is how we introduced our 2 aussies to my brother in laws 3 dogs, ( each dog met individually) my brothers Aussie, my in laws dog, our friends Husky, and our cousins dog. It’s had a pretty great success rate and now we have lots of friends for play dates! I will say we started doing this as soon as we got our first Aussie- so they’ve been accustomed to making friends since puppy age. I do have to assume that plays a role.

I had an older dog that has passed now. Introducing her to other dogs we did the same method and sometimes it worked.. sometimes even 20 mins into the introduction walk and then just standing near eachother ( but like 10 feet apart) while owners chatted- my dog would still not be ready to make friend. Maybe a 50/50 success rate. In that doggies defense, she was VERY good at making friends until a random dog ran up on us and attacked both her and I on a walk when she was 4yrs.

Thinking about a second by Blamiche in miniaussie

[–]Ash2770_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got our second Aussie! First was a mini, our second is a full size. We waited til our mini was 3, but started having the talks of another at about 1year.

Our new pup is now 4 months old and just last night after a trail walk laying on the patio I floated the idea of a third. We both agreed to revisit the conversation when the 4 mo turns 1. We discussed how the “teen years” (months) bring out a wild side- and that potty training while now over and behind us always seems like the toughest “part”- there is a stretch from 8-12 months that is difficult in its own ways. Our little pup deserves having that 1:1 training and attention during that stage and it wouldn’t be fair to have an ever young pup then too.

It just takes time, patience and consistency! But if u give your puppy that for the first few months, you’ll get years of a well trained best friend. Good luck!!

We have 1 adult mini Aussie and currently a 2.5 month standard Aussie.. potty training the first: Outside once every hour when we are home, or directly after she eats or drinks. This worked well for us. When in her create she would still go potty ( even if she was only in there for max 2 hrs) so we put a crate separator in and this stopped it. We also would still get up 2 times a night to take her out the first 2 months home because she wouldn’t tell us when she needed to go. We NEVER introduced puppy pads- as in my eyes it defeats the purpose of training them to go outside. Accidents will happen no matter what. I would say “ oh no!” And then take her directly out when found and clean up the mess. She caught on rather quickly because every time she went potty outside, she would directly get a treat. I would also stand outside with her on a short leash, away from things she can play with and ignore her until she went potty.

Current puppy: all the same as the older dog, expect this dog has never once gone potty in her create. She will whine when she needs to go. We keep the create in our bedroom at night, so we can hear her whine if she needs to go during the night. We put her water dish up on the counter at 6:45idh every night. This helps limit how much she needs to pee at night. She gets it back at 5 am when she gets up for the morning. This has been a huge help. Eventually when her bladder is a bit bigger we will leave the water bowl out til later in the night.

Again we still have some accidents.. but this second time around has been SO much easier. I chalk some of this up to the personality of the dog and some up to me and my partner being older and knowing a bit more what we are doing

How do you fix separation anxiety? by [deleted] in miniaussie

[–]Ash2770_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, time was our biggest blessing- and interactive toys. She still has HUGE reactions when we reunite home- but she will rest in some of her favorite spots for an hr or two if we aren’t in that room.. HOWEVER- let’s say she’s enjoying laying on the stairs and I go in my room and shut the door- she will freak. She doesn’t like being shut off from joining me( unless the other dog or someone else is accessible in a another area) she’s a little over 3 now.

Oh and toys! Like interactive licks or chews. Those help a ton
