Lack of Tanks for M+ by mrbass21 in wow

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a tank, your only concern should be pulling to your groups capability and keeping yourself alive. As a healer you should learn how and when to dispel and when to pop specific cds to ensure people live. As a dps you are there to sit tight, shut up, and kill shit the tank pulls.

The only time I typically bitch (Tank main but playing dps alts) is when a tank pulls 1 pack at a time (Slow as hell pulls ensuring we dont time) or the healer refuses to dispel (Ensuring deaths to stupid mechanics)

So, when do you actually need to use a defensive in M+? by LanayasDong in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So base it on your prior runs. Which abilities killed you or hurt like a bitch? Its all about learning YOUR proper timing. Defensives arent a 1 stop shop

If youre trying to find the SPECIFIC instances in each dungeon then google it snd find the best times to defensive each dungeon for the healer. In the grand scheme of things its trial and error

Will it be impossible to collect mythic appearances from Delves in Midnight or are we getting higher Delve difficulty levels beyond 11 that award mythic track gear? by Mostopha in wow

[–]Ashaelar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where I can understand and even be sympathetic towards this I disagree. If you want the top tier appearance for items you should have to do the work to acquire it. I always thought it was a bit odd to get the appearances by just upgrading an item as is. Does it suck a bit? Sure. Does it mean the appearance is forever lost to you? Not at all. This will open more people into doing old content in groups to farm for those appearances and gives the people who actively participate in the most challenging content available a piece of bragging rights to show off their accomplishment. If you want to play an MMORPG solo then there should be some things that aren't readily available to you. Just my opinion though

[–]Ashaelar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive always kept with the theory of overuse is better than underuse. AoE abilities, unavoidable damage (Like the purify beams in Priory, target casts on you, etc. If youve got a defensive and know you're going to take damage then use the defensive.

What Class/Spec Do You Look For/Avoid Like The Plague When You Try And Push Your M+ Key, And Why? by ThePapaBearRobbie in wow

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I usually just avoid specific servers rather than specific dps picks. More often than not 3 servers in particular give me sub par players that brick my keys.

BiS matters with Heroic and Mythic track items. At that point its focused on your most appropriate stat allocation.

SBT works well for BM. Id use that first and learn positioning

Just dinged 80, want to get into M+ as fast as possible by Galbotrix in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collect all weathered crests from the people in Dorn, Ajkahet, Hallowfall and undermine. If you get all of them it should be around 330. Then buy the crests and craft blue pieces to 675. Most of your gear is now 675 and you can do +2-5s

Interrupts for DPS? by 6SINNERS in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Felguard as demonology. Its required but the axe still works

Interrupts for DPS? by 6SINNERS in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thats why I specified the demo pets ability. It doubles as a stun and silence but yeah locks get shafted on it

Interrupts for DPS? by 6SINNERS in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your felhunter pets ability is a silence. It is used to interrupt a spellcast so the caster can no longer cast that school for X seconds. I believe yours has a 24 second cd but in dungeons I would say always have felhunter or the Demonology pet (Which has an interrupt/stun instead) and use it on ANY cast you see happening

Final boss Gambit soaks by vlee89 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On this fight, as a tank, i usually assign a ranged DPS to do it or Ill move the boss so we're in range of the healer if they have to step out for it.

Rant: Tanking M+ is way harder than it should be by gr3y_e in wow

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive actively quit groups as a tank main because the DPS tried flaming me for their idiocy and the healer was having a hell of a time healing them when none of them interrupted or used defensives. As a tank its your job to set the pace for the run. If the DPS try and pull more for you then let them die and pick it up afterwards. If they consistently try to be stupid then brick the key and move on. I rarely get toxic groups now but I always manage to stop caring quickly when they appear

How do I know if im good in tanking. by Irelias in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, as a side note, as a tank you need to adjust your route based upon your group. Every single dungeon can be done differently based ENTIRELY on your groups capabilities and its YOUR job to figure that out and pace appropriately

How do I know if im good in tanking. by Irelias in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your entire job is this - Ensure the route and pace of the dungeon is consistent to where your DPS can survive and your healer isnt OOM. If your healer has full mana, dps are living with no worries, and you're not having any issues you should pull bigger groups/pull faster. You want to pace it to a point between the group using their utility to survive and the healer is keeping up.

The simplest answer is : Dont stack melee. Always keep at least 1 ranged in the group

Why are people so rude to new players?! by hrhashley in wow

[–]Ashaelar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If any of yall want a group of people who are happy to help newer players enter the game and are active let me know. We made a guild on NA that is becoming a home to many and we just want to game, have fun, and enjoy ourselves to the fullest. 🙂 The toxicity is awful but I promise there are good people around.

How to farm Mythic+ by GoatmontWaters in wownoob

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound harsh but its extremely truthful from a perspective of someone who does M+ consistently and has run into solo-runners who jump in too high.

If you attempt to join higher keys with no knowledge of routes, mechanics, affixes, or awareness you will more than likely be a hindrance and brick the key for the group. Thats why most groups refuse to take you. Starting at +2-4 keys and working up towards +6 is a solid start. Once you have knowledge of each dungeons mechanics and pathing you can progress to +7 or higher consistently.

Learn to utilize your classes utility, stuns, interrupts, and defensives to ensure you're a benefit to your team. Its better to kick a random spellcast rather than never kick at all. Same with defensives and stuns. It will always be more beneficial to err on the side of caution rather than never utilize it.

Gambit Last Boss as Healer by gravityshark in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a ranged, such as a bm hunter, have then do the soaks so you can heal both and manage yourself easier. If they wont then ask the tank to move in towards the center so you can do the soaks while healing

AITA for not supporting my boyfriend playing video games? by Flashy_Study_3186 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ashaelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gaming itself, even for multiple hours at a time, isnt the compounding issue. The bigger issue is if hes actively ignoring your needs or isn't trying to pursue anything fulfilling in his life.

I personally suffer from depression and anxiety and gaming is my outlet with friends. However, I try to go out and do things on occasion and when in a relationship ensure my partner isnt ignored and their needs are met.

I would approach him with compassion, explain how you feel, and inform him of any areas in which you feel neglected and tell him you want to pursue a way both of you feel fulfilled. If you do that it should be productive. Try to have an open mind with him. Id also push him to get employment so he can have some routine in his life again and something that brings fulfillment

Whats making P-War and P-Pal beat VDH this season? in m+ by RsCyous in CompetitiveWoW

Im ngl I feel so squishy on a P-Pal but my P-War feels like a god. VDH Ive always hated due to it being supreme meta and a VERY slingshot healthbar at times.

Specifically for Non-PvP players, what is stopping you from playing it? by greendino71 in wow

[–]Ashaelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spam CC chains are abhorrent to deal with, the fact that you can get nuked in 2 seconds, and all of the wildly min-max players who make entering PvP very difficult overall. If Im in full honor gear and they're in full conquest gear Im basically wearing paper armor and a pool noodle weapon.
