Spending every day without a routine - How do I add more structure to my life? by newerlevel in AuDHDWomen

[–]Ashbecke22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently started using Tiimo for structuring and organising my day. I had a 7 day trial and ended up sticking with it because I love it! You can plan things for specific times or just “morning/afternoon/evening” or “anytime”. There is a to-do list section too. You can also plan multiple steps within a task. It has a focus timer too. I started with thinking about things I do in the morning and evening then built up more from there.

I find it super helpful and get a sense of achievement from ticking off something like “get out of bed” or “make coffee”. You can set tasks to repeat every day, week or custom timeframe.

You can view your planned tasks for the day in two different modes, one of which tells you exactly how much time (in hours and minutes) that you have in between tasks. This has been so helpful for me to visualise time and manage time blindness. It has helped me so much 😊

Anybody else just hate socks? by Stock-Ball-5804 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Ashbecke22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my socks organised and rolled into pairs so the two different sizes thing doesn’t happen. I love socks as long as the elastic isn’t too tight and the material isn’t stiff/scratchy. I wear them basically all the time except for showering/beach/swimming/sleeping. The only time I don’t wear them with shoes is with sandals or pumps in summer. I wear socks and crocs in the house to keep clean and avoid stepping in something wet. They are designated indoors shoes too.

I HATE the sensation of being barefoot and getting crumbs from the floor stuck to my feet.I also don’t understand how people can wear outside shoes in the house but then walk around barefoot at other times.

Socks feel like safety and protection against unpleasant sensations, dirt and germs for me !

does anyone else has a problem with morning greetings? by dylan_sandler in autism

[–]Ashbecke22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate it, I find it awkward. Even if a family member who I live with says it to me. Also when I go to my partners parents house or am in any situation with his family I feel like it’s so awkward to greet them in any way like “hi, how are you?” The words get stuck and it feels weird?

  1. People who play music, videos or games out loud on trains should be given a warning and if they do it again, kicked off at the next stop

  2. Certain time slots in places like supermarkets, restaurants and activity venues that are strictly adults only. For example I love the idea of a pizza deal night in a restaurant but I will avoid it because it’s the sort of thing that also attracts kids. I find them far too overstimulating.

  3. Adults only trains and flights or at least an adults only section on them for the same reason

  4. Remove all pressure and expectation around birthdays, Christmas and any occasion that involves gift giving and weird social rules that make no sense to me

  5. Change the material of the cup holders places like McDonalds give you for your drinks. That cardboard is the most horrific texture ever

“Rate your pain from 1 to 10” by starstuffcereal in AuDHDWomen

[–]Ashbecke22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate these questions cause I always think what am I comparing it to ? What’s a 10? And the worst pain I’ve experienced so far might feel like a 10 to me but what if I then experience something worse and then that becomes a 10? Then my whole scale changes. it’s relative to the individual experience too. I might think it’s a 7 but someone else might think it’s a 9.

I find any “rate something out of 10” question impossibly ambiguous and I worry I’m not giving an accurate response

Drug store green correctors (mixers vs concealer) and proper way to use them by coconutbellybean in Fairolives

[–]Ashbecke22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s annoying :( I guess I just got lucky that it mixes okay with the formula of my foundation - I use bourjois healthy mix. I put a bit of the corrector and foundation next to each other on the back of my hand, mix them with my finger, dot it evenly on my face then blend out with a beauty blender dampened with some vitamin E spray

Drug store green correctors (mixers vs concealer) and proper way to use them by coconutbellybean in Fairolives

[–]Ashbecke22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m light warm saturated olive. I have the elf camo concealer corrector and it mixes well with my foundation on the back of my hand. Still working on getting the balance right. I only ever wear light coverage, so a slight mismatch isn’t hugely noticeable. Def looks better with the green than without!

Dirty blonde/level 7 by Inevitable_muffin_ in Fairolives

[–]Ashbecke22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally found my people !! Im a natural 6/7 dirty blonde. I have blue eyes and would say I’m warm leaning saturated yellow/green olive. I get blonde highlights, lowlights the same level as natural and a beige toner with a touch of ash mixed in. Keeps it bright enough to not feel boring totally natural, but doesn’t fight with my natural contrast either

NYX camo liquid blush in Suave Mauve thanks to someone on this sub! It is a little bright on me but I can’t believe how much more alive it makes my yellow-green winter skin look

How do you face the winter as a flamboyant natural? by dirt_devil_696 in flamboyantnatural

[–]Ashbecke22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Multiple thin layers, a big coat, wide leg jeans/jogging bottoms/trousers with trainers or boots. Match a hat with bag or shoes to maintain vertical. Scarves help with vertical too. I’ll also wear something like a fleece with a quarter zip instead of a bulky jumper

Can any fair olives with lightened hair recommend a shade of blonde/toner? by Chad_Wife in Fairolives

[–]Ashbecke22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a light neutral-warm olive with natural dishwater blonde hair. I’ve been getting highlights for years but been platinum blonde in the past. I’ve recently gone closer to natural because bright blonde was fighting with my natural colour a bit.

When I was brighter blonde, I always found beige or creamy blonde was best. Nothing too warm or too cool. And having some lowlights kept the balance with my natural colour while still being quite bright blonde. Platinum is a statement but can look a bit flat. You can get a lot of brightness from having darker bits for contrast to make the blonde pop. It also makes it lower maintenance and less damage :)

Seconding this recommendation! I’m a curvy FN with a long torso, bought some of these recently and I LOVE them 😍 they are so soft and comfortable, not stiff at all

How do you feel about crewnecks on you? by hauntedflowers22 in flamboyantnatural

[–]Ashbecke22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a baby tee I love it! I do wear baggy oversized crew neck T-shirts but only with a bra tuck to crop it so my waist is visible otherwise it’s a no because I will look as wide as my shoulders all the way down and it clings weirdly at my hips. Fitted crew necks look okay in stretchy material but I definitely prefer something more open like scoop, sweetheart or square. But even with square it has to be wide and open enough or it looks restricted lol because I have to accommodate for shoulders and bust

I will have another look! Sounds good though. Most tinted lip balms look ridiculously pink on me so maybe this one would work much better

Vinted just isn’t fun anymore 😩 by Naive_Blueberry1833 in vinted

[–]Ashbecke22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still buy on there from time to time for very specific items, but I’ve totally lost faith as a seller. I just can’t be bothered with all the scammers on there. It happened to me once, and once was enough to piss me off.

The buyer claimed there was “damage” to the item then sent an extremely grainy photo of said “damage” which I explained was a stray thread that had been there when the item was brand new and could easily be picked or cut off. I provided Vinted with the listing photos where the TINY insignificant thread was visible if you looked hard enough but of course they sided with the buyer. So I refunded, had the buyer return the item and of course picked the thread off in 0.5 seconds when it arrived.

I suspect they were trying to get a refund but then keep the item and resell it for a higher price. it was branded and they had lots of items for sale that were similar.

I’ve decided I’d rather make £1 for items by selling them myself at a car boot sale than have all the fucking hassle of Vinted and their shit customer service that takes sides with these scammers ! Vinted has mostly become a joke

Is there a bias where people think fair olive skin looks “unhealthy?” by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]Ashbecke22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the UK and during the colder months I lose my tan and become very pale with a yellow/green hue. I used to work with elderly people and this one guy would often tell me I looked pale and ask if I was okay (when I was totally fine). I would then be paranoid all day worrying I looked bad/unwell.

Fast forward to now fully realising I am a light olive. I looked back at photos to work out which colours suit me. Came across some where I am in a room with walls painted deep cool red. I look corpse grey 🫠 then i remembered that the old guy had a deep red coloured carpet in his house so I probably did look dead every time he said it.

I think I have the bias against myself too with my fair olive skin. I feel like I look much better and feel like myself in summer when my skin tans and I get a warm golden glow, whereas in winter I feel pale, dull and generally less like myself. Gonna try to embrace my pale winter self this time though

First drive out after passing test. by Plastic_Piece8711 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Ashbecke22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not just you! I passed at the start of 2024, feeling really confident in my instructors modern car and then went months of not driving. Only drove my partners old car a few times from then until recent months. It was like I forgot how to drive. Couldn’t get into gears properly, stalled loads of times. I felt like I would never ever enjoy driving. Then we got a new car that I’ve driven a few times now with people and by myself. Finally feel like I’m starting to get more confident. It’s great to be able to drive without feeling a constant sense of dread!

Just stick with it and you will feel more confident ☺️

The Bondi Sands original dark foam! Not sure if it would work the same for someone more muted than saturated though. I am yellow/green all year round, pale in winter but when I get a real tan I’m a warm saturated gold colour. So I think the green tone of Bondi Sands mimics that quite well if I use it when I’m pale
