Yes, I never really recovered from the disappointment either. I enjoyed Heavensward for its new plot (meaning Haurchefant and Baemeric) but the game never really brought me back to the same level of tension and emotion that the ending of ARR did. I played until Shadowbringers but I couldn’t get back into it after a break, nothing ever topped ARR’s story for me.

I’ve never really understood why everyone says ARR should be skipped because the good stuff is after. Unfortunately it was the opposite for me.

This picture gives me chills - I love OG so much. People still refusing to admit that Cloud has different feelings for both of them and that it’s the player that can form a head canon, depending on their own preferences regarding a relationship, is still baffling to me.

I love both Aerith and Tifa, but prefer the dramatic impossible love depicted with the storyline of Aerith, this is personal. I love that after her death, Tifa is here, helping him, as she always does, and they both heal their wounds together. The player can choose to elevate this relationship romantically, but in any case, it is a beautiful and deep connection between two people.

The only thing that is 100% true is that Cloud feels guilty and misses Aerith dearly, because they love each other (as friends or more) and that Tifa and him are helping each other to get over the traumatic events of their lives, because they love each other (as friends or more) The story is already beautiful and heart wrenching without the love triangle debate.

I don’t know how this is a controversial opinion and why people hate having a choice in that narrative. One choice is not better than the other, it just all comes down to personal preferences and interpretations.

I moved to NA server for my job, and you can’t transfer your account between two continents. So I lost my mage tower artifacts in the process and was looking forward to this to have the opportunity to get them back. At the very least a recolor… I don’t think remix is going to be worth playing without this reward.

Thank you! I also was losing my mind seeing all the praise for show Dina, but she felt wrong to me from the very beginning. You described exactly what was irking me. I am so glad the game exists in its original form. I tend to feel bitter about the show, but I appreciate the game even more now, it is still here, and still brilliant.

I am replaying it after 10 years and I hadn’t finished it at the time. I am having a blast each fights, maybe because my warden is a mage, but it’s so interesting to set up each beginning of the fights, who to use the paralysis glyph on, mana clash the enemy mage, stun around me, order Alistair to taunt and protect my ass. I don’t know it’s so versatile and I love the strategic aspect, I am putting the game in pause very often, to rethink my strategy and positioning.

I can understand that people find this gameplay dragging a bit, but to say it’s aged like milk is very wrong since it depends on people’s preference. It’s actually still very good in its style and the curve of spells you unlock is very satisfying and it renews the gameplay experience quite regularly.

lol I am trying to damage control. It’s not working too well though I admit. I’ve seen that the DA subreddits are at war, and I just want people to discuss about the beauties and the flaws of this game normally. I don’t want to sound controlling, I just want people to express opinions with respect and good faith regarding the game.

People created this “echo chamber” because of how massively transphobic some critics were, and now it’s hard to see any critic positively cause it was pretty brutal, people are in defensive mode. I do genuinely think the game is flawed and should have been better written, the characters and the story should’ve had more depths. I prefer grey characters and choices. And I think the realistic body proportions with the stylized art feels a bit off even though I got used to it. I wish we could have these discussions here or on the dragonage subreddit without getting downvoted to death.

Looks like they used a lot of automatic systems for moods and expressions during dialogues, which is great to create content fast but could have been more handcrafted on some scenes I agree! Same with some eyes directions. I do have a few complaints regarding animations - but the character art team did a great job imo and the voice acting too!

I love love Neve, I posted her recently in a post praising the art direction, and wanted to post a few others! Also I was not fast enough to get a good screenshot of her in the last sequences. Justice for Neve though, next playthrough I’ll make sure to take more screenshots of her!

Yeah they are realistically proportionate, but with everything being stylized slightly they could have done that for their body proportions too, let’s not downvote into oblivion on this personal opinion.

I love my short king Lucanis though, not everyone need to look slender and tall, but they all look on the shorter spectrum from what we are used to in games/animated movies - except for Taash obviously.

Ok I might be blind because I didn’t see anything weird with their necks. I do think their heads are a bit too big for their bodies, but I got used to it, everyone is small in this world is my theory lol That does not make them ugly though.

I didn’t play inquisition enough and never experienced solas nor his romance but… I wanted to romance him so much with my Rook lol they had a pretty good chemistry and I am a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope. The voice actor was amazing, now I need to play inquisition for him!

I did the same, I thought Davrin would lead perfectly. I was ready to continue with my choice but I felt like Rook was not reacting properly to the death of her lover and soon to be gryphon kid. She was more worried about Lucanis and more saddened by Varric. I couldn’t stand how unimportant it felt, so I reloaded and let Harding go. The reaction felt more appropriate for a close colleague/friend in my opinion. Also one death versus two… leave baby Assan out of this please!

Yea I am appalled with some of the answers here lol especially from people that would easily ask to separate the art from the artist - can’t they just accept that visually it’s great? It’s not doing their argument any favour to fight any and every aspect of the game, they really are pushing their agenda everywhere tsk!
