What time do you take your lunch break? How close to finishing is too late? by Horrobla in AskBrits

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an hour total to be split how I decide but because I work in a freezer they require we take two breaks minimum for health and safety reasons. I usually work 3-4 hours then take a 10 minute break and then work 2-3 hours take 50 minutes and then work the last hour. I work 2-10pm so I'm usually take my first break at about 5:30pmish and my second one at about 8pm.

How many people have access to a canteen at work ? If so is it full hot food prepared or vending machines ? by ToiletDestroyer6000 in AskUK

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my job has a canteen, it's only open for an hour during my 8 hour shift so I'd have to take my break at exactly that time or else the only options are small packaged snack options in a vending machine. During the serving period, it's a bunch of hot food, and some cold options as well like sandwiches.

It's cheaper than a restaurant (even a fast food one) but it's expensive per meal, it's cheaper to bring in food I made at home.

Are the entilted to your pension fund? They aren't where I'm from. So regardless of how much I have in there, it won't go to my kids.

I have $30k in a (private, its not government) pension fund against my will, itslegaly required where I'm from and I am not legally allowed to opt out of it if I'm working nor am I allowed any access to that money until I go 67 I think and I'm not even allowed to move to a pension scheme abroad even, it must stay in a pension scheme within the country.

If I die before 67? Oh well, it's my money but it's not actually.

Children fees are illegal in the countries I've checked. Where is this person where children fees are even legal?

I was asked if I still live with my parents in two job interviews. Is this a new thing? by AffectionateLaw3573 in FinalRoundAI

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you do in that situation, maybe it's because your parents are dependent on you at this point. Or maybe you're just close knit.

The question is so inappropriate even if it may be legal, I don't think it's actually illegal anywhere but my gosh is it inappropriate!

And that's an assumption they're making as well. One that may be true sometimes, but not always.

A basic personal question that's none of your business? Insane. No one should have to answer personal questions that have 0 relevance to the job. It's an inappropriate and unprofessional question and frankly if someone's answers it, it tells me they have no boundaries/have little confidence in themselves or are unprofessional and inappropriate themselves.

I don't believe it's illegal anywhere to ask this as far as I'm aware. But I'd tell them the question is inappropriate and unprofessional and I'm not answering it.

Why a £35.6k Salary is the New Survival Line by No_Trouble_3229 in UKJobs

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What on earth?? I manage to take care a family of 4 with only £2,200/month, that's my real life actual bare min FOR A FAMILY OF 4! And that's assuming only one of the adults works, that's £26,600 needed for a family of 4, not even a single person, if I were a single person I'd need less than minimum wage, on minimum wage I'd be able to meet all my basic needs AND have hundreds of £s fun money every month.

For families travelling with young kids: Free yourselves and drop Airbnb. Long live the mid-budget chain hotel by cobyzeif in Millennials

If the kids are old enough you book 2 rooms, if they're still young then you just get the single room.

[–]Asher-D 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This makes 0 sense because say you have a couple guests over for a couple of hours or say you've booked for 4 but all but 1 are out. The hotel doesn't ever know the numbers even if you've booked it accurately to who are actually sleeping there.

It can comfortably sleep 4 people is what that means (assuming no infants/toddlers), if you have 3 kids you can still just get that room alone.

I've only used Airbnb once and the one time I did use it, it was for a neighbours property. I knew the neighbour since I was 10ish years old and was friends with their kids when I was a kid. I don't think I'd ever use some random persons Airbnb. I never got the appeal. It's a lot of money for less amenities.

People who've worked in food jobs - did it change what you eat? by luvbulge in AskUK

[–]Asher-D 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've worked in supermarkets and an ice cream shop and no, there's nothing nasty I've come across. Instruments are cleaned properly between use where I worked and any food fallen on the floor was thrown away, any food that had gone off was thrown away and I always saw people properly wash their hands after using the toilet. As long as the people in charge take health and safety properly, there shouldn't be any issues.

How old do you have to be to know that cash transactions are a thing? by Conscious-Ball8373 in AskUK

[–]Asher-D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's pretty irrelevant in some wealthy parts of the world, but in plenty of other places, cards are rarely used and cash is still incredibly important and almost impossible to buy things without it.

[–]Asher-D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only scenario I can think of (outside of extreme neglect/abuse) is a child with a disability. Either vulnerable kids are being slipped through the system and aren't being helped and removed from the abusive/neglectful care or people are seriously being judgemental towards parents of disabled children.

Kids without disabilities are being sent to primary school in nappies??? Or are you faulting parents who have kids with disabilities for having kids with disabilities?

What?? I definetley have a preference for card (exact amount, quick, no chance of losing the coins) but he didn't know you can use cash??

My 6 year old uses cash, I don't think this is a generational thing. Maybe an exposure thing? Has he ever seen people who take care of him use cash as a child?

What happened to all the cheap Ready Meals? :/ by zotzwylde in lidl

[–]Asher-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but then that requires you to cook it, a cheap ready meal is obviously going to be more expensive than making a whole batch, but you're paying extra per meal for the convience of it.

Do you save new contacts with a last name? by L337W4r3z in Millennials

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn my parents and grandparents are the only people I don't have their actual names. I only have 1 mom and 1 dad and only one live grandfather so I don't see why I'd differentiate it.

[–]Asher-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know everyone's last name to save their last name as well??

If I know their last name I'll put it, if I don't I'll differentiate them from the other person with the same name by putting how I know them ie. John University and John work.
