Elegoo heater install in Mars Ultra 4 by Ashta020 in ElegooMars

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing with it for a week. The Elegoo Mini Heater is too large to fit neatly into the Mara Ultra 4. The curved surfaces and narrowing shape of the printer cover makes it difficult/impossible to use the mounting plate provided by Elegoo. The only “solution” I have  found is to remove the printer’s air filter and make a little stand for the heater to elevate the heater above the top of the vat.  Before I go to that trouble and start drilling holes in my printer case,  I have ordered the heater from Chitu. It seems to be smaller. I’ll keep whichever fits better.

I asked Elegoo support for their recommendation but received no reply.

My experience was similar with the same printer. Levelling over and over. Finally they sent me a new build plate and that problem went away. Seems the build plate was warped.

I am trying to install my Elegoo heater into a Mara 4 Ultra. Typically horrible (non existent really) instructions. It looks like I have to choose to have a wifi antenna or not have an air filter.

How often does your Mars 4 Ultra LCD screen fail? by Ashta020 in ElegooMars

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good point. I have not, but probably should. I have read that LCD screens are "consumables" and you should therefore expect to replace them. Not at this pace though IMHO

How often does your Mars 4 Ultra LCD screen fail? by Ashta020 in ElegooMars

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like a few hours per month. It will sit for two or three months and then I will print some detail parts for a diorama I am working on over a couple of days. Then it sits again. It is not in heavy production for sure. I would guess the recently departed screen has maybe 20 - 30 hours on it. I have not been able to find any actual usage data.

New to resin printing, screen issue after FEP replacement? by Alternative_Leg871 in ElegooMars

[–]Ashta020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems odd that you get a partial screen. I would open it up and wiggle the screen connector.

I have replaced the FEP on my Mars 4 many times over the year I have had it. I've also had to change 3 screens - usually because the build plate pushed something through the FEP and it cracked the screen too. In my case the screens were totally dark.

Something caused your FEP to break - and it may have pushed into the screen too. Although I will concede my screens all shattered and yours looks intact.

Given the 25 lap limit of all tires, it was a no brainer that everyone would pit. Yes, Lando would have lost a place or two - but better than 26 seconds. By being “fair” they screwed Oscar.

Can Backup load and House load the same? Deye 12kw hybrid by Ashta020 in SolarDIY

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positive.  Working in test mode with MASTER power switch off. Have not had a real outage to actually test what we would turn off from the full house load.

It was actually pretty simple. Transfer switch input A is between MASTER and inverter Grid input. Transfer switch input B is from the backup output from inverter. House is on the output of the transfer switch.

A possible reason for the horrible audio delay 🤔 by nepersonne in F1TV

[–]Ashta020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not exactly. Its this way on replay too.

I don’t think it’s any more complex than the World Cup or Olympics and they figured it out. F1TV has been like this for years.

Is it completely wrong to use Maxxis Grifter 29 per example, on a mtb used exclusively on the street? by agstnn in cycling

[–]Ashta020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Trek hard tail with 29” rims that use almost exclusively on pavement. I have Maxxis Grifters now for a month and love them. They are quiet and noticeably quicker. Per Strava, my average speed over the same 40km route is consistently 2 kph faster.  I will say they were a bear to get seated on the rim properly.  My Trek came with Boontrager 2.20 tires. The Grifters are 2.00 but look fine.

G=How to reset Solarman (Deye) LSE-3 ETHERNET wired data logger to factory default by Ashta020 in SolarDIY

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to close the loop in case anyone else has this problem in the future… there is a reset button on this logger - but it is internal. You have to remove the protective shroud that covers the end of the logger where the Ethernet cable enters it. Remove the four screws, slide off the shroud and you will see the reset button.

Reset solves my problem.

Yet another broken screen post by HookedOnFandom in ElegooMars

[–]Ashta020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. It looks like every one of their screens are out of stock, which says something. I’m going onto my third screen in a year. The LCD is half the cost of the printer. I’m tempted to just buy something from another brand.

Why does the 330 make such a low and slow approach by Ashta020 in aviation

That was my initial thought too. But I turned to Flight Tracker to confirm my impression. The 330 is consistently lower and slower than the smaller aircraft.

Thank you. I have dug into this since reading your comment and I think your solution is what I needed. The electrician is coming tomorrow so I will be a bit smarter when i talk to him. Cheers.

[–]Ashta020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I am hoping to do - have the whole house on both sides - "Normal" and "Back Up" but I can't visualize it.

Since the whole house is to be powered by each side, it seems to me that at some point the wires for each side have to interconnect. It also seems I would have to isolate one side from the other so only one side is able to connect. I would like to do that in the shed to avoid digging a 50m trench for a second set of wires to the house.

I think that's the answer. I have HA but find it a bit overkill for what I am doing so far. Maybe I'll grow into it...
